Topic: Looking for a place to host my stuff

Hi All;
I'm Marc and I am new to all this public forum stuff.
A little while back I got interested in PunBB.
So I setup a localhost WAMP on my Dell Windows XP SP2 box.
I downloaded and installed PunBB1.3.4. I love the thing so I would like to go public with it. What should I look for in a hosting service?

Thank you much;
Marc

Skip to the appropriate type of service you want here;

Re: Looking for a place to host my stuff

I just finished reading the page that KeyDog linked to, and that seems like a realistic view of the situation. They all give a different mix of features, but some are better than others. I do notice though that many web sites that I go to during the day are slow to get served and obviously have either overloaded servers, or (most important) have bad connection to the backbone. Anyway, in case it's of interest to you I've been using Superb Hosting for 3 years now and they've only been down for half an hour or so in that time, and the pages load pretty fast. I also only pay $6 a month and they respond right away to calls. No hosting company is perfect, but I feel I've been getting what they advertise. http://www.superb.net/

Wow!!, Thanks man;
Now I have even more to think about.
What I have running on my Windows Home PC right now is Apache 2.2.16, PHP 5.3.3, MySql 5.1.50 and PHPMyAdmin 3.3.7
Just got done doing a format c: /s /v after fighting with the stuff over the weekend and had to rebuild c drive from original cds.
Whatever I decide to go with I'll be able to try at home first.
There is lots of good stuff and people on here.
Once again, Thank You Much;
Marc
