Re: Poll for PunBB

Nice looking mod you have there.

If you are going to allow users to change the question and/or answers that would be OK provided the poll is reset to zero otherwise the votes would be meaningless i.e people have voted for one thing but you then change it to something else (a bit like political parties really). It is probably easier just to scrap a defective poll and start again.

BTW. Your signature looks somewhat familiar.

Re: Poll for PunBB

Yes, your'e right about resetting the votes. Some other forums dont reset their... don't know if its ok or not.

Sign: Yepp, a good quote deserves some signature-time. Added your name too, if it was that you wanted smile

Re: Poll for PunBB

I saw this the other day. It looks very nice :)

One thing though. Why would you want a poll to be "invisible"?

"Programming is like sex: one mistake and you have to support it for the rest of your life."

Well, never I think wink I'll change it.

It's a few small things left to do, but quite soon I think.

Re: Poll for PunBB

Looking very good.

changing their answer ... no I don't think that's neccessary, at least not for me ... (although perhaps some want that toggleable option perhaps?)

single/multiple votes would be nice, and also perhaps manual close or deadline for the votes.

But it's looking very nice! smile

Re: Poll for PunBB

well done!
it is better if there can be a [img] in the answers

Why multiple votes?

Hmm, I dont know, I think its better to have the images in the post. Maybe I'll do an "Allow bb-code"-option though...

Re: Poll for PunBB

Why multiple votes?

Well lets say someone want to know what days it's impossible to make a meeting.

Then he can let people vote on all days that they can be on that meeting, or such ... and then one will get a fairly good idea when most of the people are occupied or not ... I've been using this on online gaming when setting up leagues to figure out a good weekday, among other things.

It's not in the meaning that a certain user is allowed to vote 5 times, and another just 1 time.

Re: Poll for PunBB

Ahh, I see. Clever smile

You could use checkboxes instead of radiobuttons, and allow people to vote one time. Implementing it right away.

Re: Poll for PunBB

*huh*, I wish it was *JUST* like that in the original PunBB. Looks very good.

And yes smile.

Re: Poll for PunBB

Wooty:
Thanx smile

And no, I've decided that you'll have to delete the poll and add it all over again.

Re: Poll for PunBB

Nice one. Been there, voted, got the T-Shirt and returned intact. Everything seems to work fine. One question. How do members start on new poll, I could not see a link? Or is the idea that only admins/mods can start polls.

You press the "Post new poll"-checkbox in the options-area when adding a new topic.
