Topic: Forum not writing to database?

I have an issue, I specified the correct database during install, but my forum made it's own db, but it doesn't write to either, one has no tables[the one specified during install] the other has a few tables, but nothing recent, I have no idea what is going on, is this a punbb issue or this this my host issue, I am pulling my hari out trying to figure it out, any help wold be appreciated, even a push in the right direction, I have no coding experience  so any solutions need to be simple.

Hello, i guess it would be either host issue or configuration. To be sure, can you try with another host, free host if you have ?
Can you also check the read/write permissions ?
Which kind of database is it ? Mysqli ? SQLite ?
