Topic: Get rid of dead members?

I noticed that there are a lot of people that have signed up for accounts here, but have never used them. Maybe Rickard should send them a batch email saying that there account will be deleted if they do not use the the account with in the next 60 days. I realise that this could take up a large chunk of the sql.

Just a thought.

Do, or do not.

Re: Get rid of dead members?

My only question is: Why?

Ah, I missed that. It actually doesn't. The size of the users table doesn't really affect performance to any any measurable degree. At least not when it's as small as it is now.

I see. Well, I guess you dont have size constraints as I do.

Vaild Reason I guess.

Do, or do not.

Re: Get rid of dead members?

You're right. I don't have size constraints. However, the users table is tiny in comparison to other tables. The database for these forums looks something like this when it comes to size:

4.9 MB - search_matches
3.4 MB - posts
1.0 MB - search_words
159.7 KB - users
130.2 KB - topics
...
