Topic: username blank space

hello.
i have a problem recently. my board already running for quite sometimes but few weeks ago, there's problem with logging in. when the user or myself trying to retrieve password (from forget password), it says that there's no such email.

when i checked my database on the particular user, i realised that there's a space before the username.

example username 'myname', will be ' myname'. and 'myname@email.com' will be ' myname@email.com'.

i removed the blank space, but this will happen again few minutes later. and it happens to all users.

please help. thanks.

It must be a bug in MySQL. PunBB doesn't do updates on everyones e-mail address so I can't be a problem with PunBB.

hi rickard, thanks for your fast reply. but i've been using the mysql for all other scripts without any problem. it has been running for few months already.

i wonder which script from punbb will it be to disturb the db? possibility? thanks once again. i really need help badly.

When you say the a space is inserted before the e-mail address, do you mean in the database or on the webpage?

Have you installed any mods?

hi rickard, it's in the database. i don't remember any mod installed.

the thing i'm wandering is, it can even edited even after few minutes i'd just removed the space. that's strange. i'm not a programmer, so it's not easy for me to find which script or action that altered the data.

I honestly don't know what's causing this. I know too little of your problem to investigate it. I very much doubt it has anything to do with PunBB though.
