Re: Trouble with time!

the server time is probably out by a few minutes,

you can change the location of your forum as long as you change the base url in admin options

Re: Trouble with time!

Sorry fo being thick LOL

but an example would be apprieciated

please!

Re: Trouble with time!

well move everything in /forum/punbb-1.1.5/upload/ to /forum/ then go to /forum/ and change the base url

Re: Trouble with time!

Still don't get it.

I vote  for a "newbie" forum for people like me.

I feel like i'm wasting peoples time but the only way i learn these things  are by

step by step tutorials smile

I built my own website and understand how files/directories/folders  work, but when it comes to this i'm stuck!

i thought the only way you could do it was  like i have done

CONFUSED!?

i should have created a new username to hide under.lol

Any idea's how i can do it ? tongue

Re: Trouble with time!

You need to find out what time it is on the server. Try this PHP script.

<?php echo date('Y-m-d H:i:s'); ?>

Re: Trouble with time!

Thanks, ran the script and found that  server time is 15 minutes behind tongue

Re: Trouble with time!

Then send off an angry e-mail to your host and instruct them to install an NTP daemon smile

Re: Trouble with time!

Waste of time they are!

I'm looking at changing to a new host this year sometime, because my forum has been down at least 20 times in just over 3 months.

One poster on my site reckons my forum's up and down more than a prostitutes knickers smile

Do you know any decent hosts with a good uptime ????

Which arn't too expensive LOL

just run the uptime php on it  and got

Current server uptime: 1 day, 3:05   WOW!

Re: Trouble with time!

I've been referred to Site5.com many times, but I've not changed yet.

Re: Trouble with time!

I dearly recommend TextDrive. They host punbb.org and a few other open source projects. Just have a look in their forums at what people are saying about them. Amazing! Also, if you sign up at TextDrive, you can choose PunBB out of a list of web software during signup and then you're supporting PunBB at the same time (a percentage of the profits goes to PunBB).
