PunBB reported: Unable to fetch category/forum list

Database reported: Unknown column 'c.visible' in 'where clause' (Errno: 1054)

I'm in debug mode and this is the error msg I'm getting after installing punbb.  Anyone know possible causes for this problem?  thanks for any advice.
