MS is going to have to backport the browser to their legacy operating systems whether they'd like to or not.
They'll put out IE7 and start comparing numbers:
a) How many more people are updating from Win98 and Win2K
b) How many more people are keeping Win98 and Win2K and going to Firefox
If (b) triumphs, they'll let the port see the light of day.
