The favicon is being used, and you can use it on your own sites.
If the forum is in the root of the domain, just copy favicon.ico to the root.
If the forum is in a sudirectory, then you need add this:
<!-- favorite icon -->
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico" />

Actually, the <link> element is not needed. All browsers I know of attempt to fetch it anyway.

Well cool all
Now i think my ico is better quality of the actualy ico on forums.punbb u can get in 16/32/ or multi format in my logo section

Just glancing at them without blowing them up, I have to say PunBB's looks better
The edges look nice and smooth and rounded, versus yours, which look more jagged
And the one Rickard linked to looks exactly the same as the one you linked to

why i say this: the selected ico by Rickard was a multi ico format (multiformat 16 and 32)
next link added by me is only 16 and the ico is not the same if u save it to ur computer and open in ico editor.
Now the topic is not "my ico vs punbb current ico" but why Rickard no use favicon.
Finally after deleting my old shorcut now i see the punbb favico working.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but browsers display the icon as 16x16 pixels, not 32x32?

16x16 and 32x32 depend of your personal chose.
Display in adress and folder fav yes 16x16 but in your shortcut desktop 32x32 or more.

yeh but 99.9% of the time people see it as 16x16
