Forum in Table

Hi,

I placed my forum in a two column table so I could have ads in the left column. The problem is that whatever is on each side does not align at the top. Varying amounts of space are created on top of one column. Can this be fixed or is there a better way to set up a left-side column?

Unfortunately, I don't really know what I am doing and am figuring it out as I go along. Thanks for any ideas...

Edit:  OK... I just figured it out: <td valign="top"> 

Thanks to the designer/s for making the code simple enough for non-programmers to work with.
