Topic: Many problems... total noob

Hello all,
I tried today to install PunBB on my site and encountered a few problems. First of all after copying the files, running install an uploading the config.php file I was getting the message about the cache folder. My hosting provider is Godaddy btw. Anyway after searching the Godaddy site for the options I mnaged to change the permitions of the folder.. I think. Short after when I tried again to view the forum index my browser would just try to load the page but nothing showed no matter how much time I left it alone. Note that there was no acctual data transfer. Anyway after waiting a bit longer I tried again and I got the too many connections message. I checked the config file for the true-false setting and it is set to false... Anyone got any ideas?...

Ok after searching around a bit I think that the problem is that I did not change the permission correctly. In goddady you need to enter the name ot the folder but since this is a sub-directory what do I need to writte?   forums/cache   /forums/cache  what? Also after changing the permition how can I make sure that they have changed? Will I be able to see the change in SmartFTP in the permission column?

I did this... I deleted the cache folder alltogether after saving the contents on my hard drive. Then I recreated it using the goddady page and set all the permissions and stuff. What happened was that the folder was created in the forums folder and all but when I checked the permissions on Smart FTP they where the same as in every other folder. In godaddy it shows that they have changed though... :S Any ideas on whats going on?

Well ok this is realyl weird... I got two sites on Godaddy. I just tried the one I've had since August and I can change the permissions though SmartFTP... On the other one I get the "command not understood" message... Whats going on?.... :S
