Topic: how to post by email ?

Is it possible to setup post by email in punBB ? I cant find anything in the documentation about it . 
what i need is an option where users can reply to the emails they receive for subscribed posts, and the reply gets posted to the appropriate punBB forum post

It is not possible as a standard feature and I do not think there is any mod to do it. How would you do to prevent SPAM with such a system ?

Preventing SPAM should be easy. New topics can only be started by members. Each new topic generates a random password which is emailed in the post. Only replies that have manually placed the password in the subject line should get posted.
