Okay perhaps you know already,
but I've used a easy way to place scrolling text (java), and clickable pictures (html code) within the Announcement bar.........
You can put the things you'll need just in it!!!

well no, okay it's not really a mod, but I did'nt know were else to put it, sorry.... 
Its really easy, just put in admin/options/Announcement message and run the thing......
