Topic: HTML in posts | htmLawed HTML filter/purifier

Many PunBB administrators want to allow HTML in posts (not BBCode). PunBB obviously does not support this because of security risks involved (JavaScript code, etc.) and because of writers submitting invalid or layout-breaking HTML.

htmLawed is a single-file, ~45 kb, non-OOP HTML filtering-cum-purifying PHP script that can address such issues. Perhaps PunBB developers can have a look at it and consider using it to implement optional allowance for HTML in posts.

That would be a modification/extension, not a feature in the core wink

I don't think so, most of the forum users have no clue what html is. BBcode can allow to do nearly every text formatting without the security flaws that html editing would create

@Yemgi: *Many* doesn't mean *most*, and yes, even a a modification/extension would be good.

Re: HTML in posts | htmLawed HTML filter/purifier

i guess it depends on who your forum is aimed at, if its like a pet forum, chances are, many of them wouldnt know, but a forum like this, a majorty of the people will know.

And you can modify punbb when ever you want, i would like to see this product in action

Sorry. Unactive due to personal life.

Re: HTML in posts | htmLawed HTML filter/purifier

There was an extension/plugin to allow HTML in punBB version 1.x

Has anyone modded this to work in 1.3.4?
