Topic: Looking for a good image management script.

I'm looking for the best, cleanest, easiest image management script out there. I prefer it use PHP and MySQL. I appreciate any feedback from the community!

If its cheaper to run Windows than it is to run Linux, how come Microsoft has all the money?

Re: Looking for a good image management script.

The best, cleanest and easiset don't mix.

The best are Gallery and Coppermine. Coppermine taking top honors.

The cleanest is debatable and comes down to what you define by clean: code or presentation. Presentation wise is singapore.

The easiest is probably many scripts that are out there that is but one php file. You drop it in a directory, upload your files via ftp and run the script. The script thumbnails your images and creates the display pages for you.

Have I questioned your answer?

Re: Looking for a good image management script.

I'm going thru a demo of singapore right now.

I'm looking for the cleanest presentation... although clean code would be great too.

I also need it to be easy to administer since it is for a non-technical user. ( my wife smile )

Re: Looking for a good image management script.

Coppermine currently has user integration with punbb which is good.

It's still got a couple of things which I don't like / would like to see though, such as:
- automatic image resizing if uploaded image is too large
- photos appearing in multiple albums
- management of public/private albums - admin can move photos from private albums to public albums, but not vice versa??

But anyway, I've installed it and it's running. ;D
