Topic: Error: Unable to fetch topic list - Weirdness after some server troubl

Hey All

I am getting this error under several conditions.

When trying to regenerate the search cache.
When trying to view latest posts.
When trying to view select forums.

When generating the cache I get:

"Processing post 2939 in topic 604
Processing post 2863 in topic 605
An error was encountered
Error: Unable to fetch topic info."

The server had some problems I am told, and what really happened is unknown. A few people are claiming it is a hacker exploiting the BB, but I am a little more inclined to believe that something went wonky on the server and they restored a backup and something got weirded out...

Any ideas?

I am looking for a way to overide the error and forget the post, maybe not a good Idea, but times pressing on me and I need to fix it someway. I don't know if this is a real bug or not... It could all be my fault, I don't know.

Check and see which database tables need repairing

Re: Error: Unable to fetch topic list - Weirdness after some server troubl

Try downloading the DB management plugin and hitting the "Repair tables" button in it

Re: Error: Unable to fetch topic list - Weirdness after some server troubl

This is in no way a punbb problem, it turns out to be a mysql issue. The server guys must have allowed things to get all wonky.

Most likely something went south, and they restored a backup, or they are upgrading the mysql server and not telling me.

Yes, it seems to point to a corrupt table etc...I will continue to work it out, I appreciate you guys responding...You never understand a problem till you try to explain it to others after all.
