Thanks for all the feedback so far. I'm glad you guys like.
As far as the extensions are concerned, I was thinking of making one where it displays a flag for each user in the from field and another where you can select which countries to allow registrations from and which to block. Have you guys got any other ideas?
Please help me test this. I've got a few ideas for extensions based on it, but would first like a rough idea of how accurate the database it uses is.
I slightly modified a free IP to country php script to display each visitor's own national flag to them.
If it is working correctly, you should see your country's flag displayed below:
Please let me know whether or not your flag is displayed correctly.
Meanwhile, you guys are free to use this geographically targeted image (is that what one would call it?):

Thanks
Thanks
SuperMAG wrote:well http://sports2all.com/forum/, i currently disabled. but its no problem, i am using addthis right now, so i don't need two extensions. was just suggesting.
No, sorry, I meant where did you download the addthis extension? I can't find it in this forum.
I appreciate your suggestions.
KeyDog wrote:Ideal would be if you could tick boxes in the admin section and activate whatever social networks are most usefull for your users (guess each board is different depending on region, age, etc)
I'd like to add that eventually, once there are enough buttons to warrant it.
KeyDog wrote:But the way you're doing it now seems a good idea: getting feedback and then making sets like: English (International) , Soutch Africa, English (USA), English (UK), German, French etc....
Thanks It will be great if this extension receives that much interest.
KeyDog wrote:EDIT @ AdsBB : yes the link now works in starting post - maybe I was downloading too shortly after you uploaded the time I had same again....
Thanks for checking, I did load it up again just to be sure.
Do you have a link?
The backgrounds of the buttons are transparent, the theme happens to be whitish there.
KeyDog wrote:cool thx. that one now worked...
And the other one? Sorry to bother, but I'm curious to know if there is a proxy server involved or if it's my hosting or what.

Thanks
SuperMAG wrote:it would look good if it was placed besides the Move, delete links. and also background should be transparent, like its only buttons.
I couldn't find any hooks there last I checked, I think you'd have to edit the language file manually. What do you mean by transparent? The images have transparent backgrounds..
Please try again. Make sure that you're not just saving the file from your browser's cache.
I uploaded it here as well, under a different name:

KeyDog wrote:very good idea....
would be nice if you put the images in a folder "img" inside the extension though and then called them with code "'.$ext_info['url'].'/img/imagename.png"
thanks!
Done.
Left out the PHP and just linked to extensions/social_bookmarking/img/imagename.png and uploaded the images.
I left the smiley hot-linked though, as I'd like to track impressions.
Sweet.
Uploaded a minor fix. The email link shouldn't open a blank window any more.
Cool, let me know when you load it up so I can have a look.
You from SA?
Tried it. Can't get JavaScript to work with the PHP
Awesome extension. I've installed it on my site.
Could this be added to the hook navigator? The combination should be really useful.
Hey that's cool.
I was also thinking of a sort of rough and ready hook editor extension where you just select the appropriate hook and add the code directly. More for testing out ideas first, before creating actual extensions.
???
Where did you put it, may I see?
So far, it just uploads the image. I'm planning to add BBCode and stuff later on.
This is an extension for developers.
When enabled, this extension makes all the hooks visible so that you don't have to search through the code.
So far I have only added the hooks for index.php:
download the visible_hooks extension here
If you guys like it I will add the rest. The list of hooks I'm using is for FluxBB. If there is a different list for PunBB, please let me know:
http://forum.vnoss.org/pub/fluxbb-1.3-d … s-list.txt
Getting the image to load in the same window is definitely the next step. A JavaScript button to insert the BBCode is the one after. A thumbnail option is a good idea.
OK Now it should be working.
There are now two upload forms in Post Reply, but I don't see any way around that with the current hooks available.
1. Agreed, I'm going to try a different hook.
2. Good idea, I will look in to it.
