here in the downloads section of PunBB.org is the user management plugin Smartys is referring to. i just used it about 3 weeks ago and pruned 1900 0 post users in under 2 seconds. one of my top favorite plugins for sure.

there's admins here have reported WAY more than 100 users at once so i'd say what pogenwurst has said and check with your host.

like PunBB, it's not for everybody or every situation.

WHAT? HAHAHA...........
man i do nothing but punbb.... who cares if the clients need it or not..hahaha...

Q

i hear ya. but it's true. some people it's just not enough for them. hence the success of paid solutions that have EVERYTHING and then some in it.

very impressive style. big_smile

you have to create one with the supplied code from the installation process. there is a sample one in the "extras" folder called "example_config.php". make sure to save the file as a php file and not a txt file. a very common mistake when using something like notepad.

some CMSes will be too much for what you need and some will not be enough. like PunBB, it's not for everybody or every situation. knowing what the company you are building the website for does will help determine what they need in a cms and therefore will eliminate the unnecessary ones leaving you with a clearer choice.

what is the type of company this will be used for? knowing that will help suggest which cms might be best for you.

that is pretty good. big_smile

i think it's time we created PunBB Trustees. wink a group of trusted members to install fresh boards for newcomers and beginners. smile

@Elbekko: i just tested that theory and my results don't match his. i get an install page void of any style and no raw code displayed like his.

unless you host does NOT supply php for you then it is not needed.

the install.php file is in the "upload" folder.
http://punbb.org/docs/install.html  read this for a little bit of help.

NO! STOP!

the only thing you upload to your webspace is the FOLDER "upload". THEN after you create a MySQL database you run the install.php file and follow the directions from then on.

your best bet would be to migrate from FUDForum to something like PHPbb or SMF(simplemachines) then to PunBB. i know VB has a import tool for FUDForum, i just looked.

that's alot of mods. wink

does that mean 1.3 is to a point you CAN? wink
