Are you referring to my comments? If so then what was wrong with them?

Anyway, to make it clear

In 1.3 you will be able to make any usergroup a group of moderators
you will not be able to make 1 user join multiple groups (unless something changes)

The reason you will not be able to make 1 user join multiple groups is that this is a rather big feature to implement and will not benefit the majority of forums, therefore it is a bloat and is not what PunBB wants.

Maybe you should just install the mod, PunMod is in beta stages and afaik is now discontinued.

I don't think Rickard is planning to change it, its not a bug its just not how you want it, but we are never going to make everyone happy.

You can't, if you let users post php they can easily do anything they want to your site.

You can't make users a member of more than one group.

PUN_ROOT has to be relative

to make the links work you could add a <base> thing to header.php see - http://dev.punbb.org/file/branches/punb … header.php

Thats a really silly thing to do, 1.2.10 was released because there are security flaws in previous versions. Its best to spend 30min patching the files manually than have your forum broken.

i wouldn't think it would be that difficult to do really, you'd need to edit the registration, login and i think the check_cookie function.

Its limited to the pre defined hooks, there will still be modifications that need files to be edited.

Its going to be made rather obsolete (not totally but alot) in 1.3 since 1.3 has extensions

Thats how PunBB works, unread posts stay highlighted until your next visit, it is being changed in 1.3

But that doesn't make sense, it DOES do that already.

Would it not make more sense to add a field to the users table?

Well neither, you will have to replace all the files but it will be an upgrade not a fresh install.

edit functions.php

Feel free to add it wink

Additional menu items in admin options

Gizzmo: But he has added the image via the description so it shows for all styles hmm
