If you're going to release code of any sort, you're obligated to not be a dick and help the person.  Period.

Errm, why are you using PunBB then? PunBB is most certainly not meant to be a free alternative to vB.

I wasn't talking to you, was I?  Are you the spokesman for the group?

I use PunBB because it's relatively light, but the lack of functions fucking pisses me off.  The fact that multiple people request something, yet it never gets implimented, is also irksome.  Oh, it is completely possible for a software package to be light while having useful features.  It's more like Rickard just doesn't want to fuck with coding what people really want.

If you knew how to read, you'd also see that I would get vB, but I'm not willing to pay for it.

flotsam: I am quite aware of the different scenarios where multigroup membership would be an advantage. I'm just not sure this is a feature for PunBB. If you really need that kind of setup, maybe you should go with a more fully-featured bulletin board.

Perhaps you're forgetting one major thing here: Without people getting what they need from your forum, eventually, you'll be the only one happy enough with it to use the thing.  I've had to hack the Christ out of it just to get something that's remotely close to what I need.  To be blatantly honest, the only thing that's stopping me from getting vBulletin is the price tag.  I'd much rather contend with bloat and useless features than a complete lack of things that many people seem to need.

If someone posts more than once in a thread, I only want the sig to appear in their first post in that thread.  Is this possible?

He wants something like this:

IS that so hard to understand?  God.

THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP, PAUL.  YOU ARE A SCHOLAR AND A GENTLEMAN.  THERE ARE SO MANY REPLIES HERE, I AM HAVING A HARD TIME SORTING THROUGH THEM.

I could, but don't want to.  Instead of telling me to wait, how about some help?

Subject sucks, but that's the only way I can put it.  Sorry.

All I want is for the moderator functions at the bottom of a thread to read more like:

Report | Quote | Stuff | Whatever

Something like:

Delete multiple | Move | Close | Stick

Help me make this happen.

I really don't like nested quotes.  At all.  Here's an example of why:

That's annoying.  How would I go about stripping this function out?

Is there any way to migrate from YaBB SE to PunBB without losing data?   Loss of any user accounts, messages etc. could be potentially disastrous.

Any input?

Any updates?

Also, is there a way to to allow mods and admins format a user's title with HTML?  I'm fond of the marquee tag.  Don't shun me.

Is there any way to make the poll not output images when displaying the results, and instead output text?  I have a few user-created skins, and trying to make images to match them would be a lot harder than it's worth.

The first guy wants his postcount to display  as a negative number...  Like -24624 or some such.  I'd assume that if it started out at, say, -50, after a post, it would become -49.  I know Invision Board works like that, but it's also a bloated piece of crap.

As for the second request, he just wants his reg date to say Tomorrow.  No one else does, at least for the moment.  That may change once the rest of my whacky, crazy users catch wind of it.

Yes, my users are an odd group, but I love 'em smile

Ok, this might sound odd, but, well, so are the people that frequent my board.  I mean that in the nicest possible way, mind you.

One user wants his post count to be a negative number.  I tried to make it so, but it just reverts to zero.  Can this be done?  If so, teach me, pls.

Another user wants his registration date to say simply "Tomorrow."  Come to think of it, I do, too.  Is this feasible, and if so, can you help me make it work?

Please keep in mind that I know little to nothing about PHP, and still haven't mastered tables in HTML (though that is my own doing, as I detest them), so take baby steps here if at all possible.  Again, sorry for the recent deluge of dumb questions posed by yours truly.

Yeah, this is the 3rd dumb thread in as many days, but I swear I'll stop soon.  K.

I use the same new post indicator image for all skins, but, as you might guess, that requires having the same image re-named umpteen times.  Is there any way to make it so that all skins accept one single image and be done with it?

If I've not made myself clear, I can fix that.

Is it possible to change a user's registration date?  It's not important by any means, but it'd be something to keep me occupied...  I've tried looking in PHPMyAdmin, but all I get in the 'registered' field is "1087597059," and I've no clue what this means.

Any help?

I'm not sure if this should go here.  If not, my bad.  Anyway, I'm wanting to modify a couple parts of the layout, and can't get it to work for me.  I want to change:

Hola, Shinryu!  You aren't banned yet.  Hooray!

I've tried hacking out the last visit part to no avail, and can't get the "You  aren't banned yet" part to work at all.  Nothing will load but a white screen.  It may be due to the apostrophe, but I can't prove it.  Help?

Edit: While I have your attention, is there any way to add custom smilies that are hosted on a server other than the one PunBB is on?
