Daris, I thought I'd paste your message to me in this topic.

Both (you and SuperMAG) are running wordpress, maybe it is a reason.
Can you rename .htaccess file in wordpress root directory, and then try to go to admin -> pages/panels?

Strangely enough, I don't seem to have a .htaccess file in my wordpress root. My wordpress is installed to my site root.

Add

define('PUN_EXTENSIONS_USED', true);

to the config.php or wherever you need to hide this.

Is that better than using an extension?

hmm,  I still get the problem of "page not found" when I tried to access "panels" and "pages".
Something is wrong.
I tried to reinstall your portal extension but got the same problem still.

I wonder if you'd like to have my forum admin password so you can have a check?
I can give you FTP access if you think that would help.
Should I send that to you via a PM?

CHEERS!!

ha that looks very sexy. is that real or a mock?

I think chatlite works very well but because it is only viewable from the index page, very few people see or use it because they are too busy viewing topics in the forums. So yes, if you could integrate chatlite in the sidebar that would be amazing.

Or perhaps your side columns are too narrow to be suitable for a chatroom?
The old chatroom for 1.2 was great where you would click the link from the navbar and then it just dropped down and became part of the main.tpl file (or so it seemed to me).  It also told you who was specifically in the chatroom rather than just who was logged on to the forum.

But I think if the correct formatting could be used, a chat box could be nice in your portal sidebar... and maybe copy it also to your portal main page too.

Wow, that would be nice smile

REQUEST:
It would be good if the voting options under the user's avatar were replaced by "already voted" until the specified time has passed so that voting for that user is allowed again.

Seems to be fixed smile

I use bold on all message boards, it allows me to read the posts better, as well as differentiate my posts from others.

But it makes everything look WORSE for other members and it makes them place a disproportionate amount of attention on  your posts.  AND you have an obnoxious signature.

haven't tried this yet but WOW great idea and thanks for all of your hard work.

yes I checked the FTP and the directories and files are definitely there. BUT the links were pointing to the wrong directory. They were pointing to the extension root rather than the specific directory. Strange!  However, even when I manually entered index.html url for pages or plates, it still said page not found.

hmmm.

=========
It probably is better to just have 1 column whilst vieiwng the  forum so that there is enough room to see the content

I tried to install this.
I click edit > then quick edit, then it says "loading" for about 3 seconds and then I get a popup window showing the entire html of the whole page with an "OK" button at the bottom.

Any clues?

Installed successfully and loving the potential of this. Some feedback

1. It over-rides the online_plus extension that normally listed who has logged on today
2. Is that correct that only the left column stays active when I check the "panels on all pages" checkbox?
3. When I click pages or panels from within admin I get "page not found" errors. Here are the urls that don't work:
http://www.eroyton.co.uk/forum/extensio … panels.php
http://www.eroyton.co.uk/forum/extensio … /pages.php

THANKS!

I think you're onto something.
I don't HAVE an include directory,
Vista keeps saying weird things whenever I try to extract the zip. That must be my problem. I'll sort out the zipping issue and try again.

THANKS!

I've now uninstalled the extentions, thanks Daris

When I click the install button I get this error:

Warning: require(../extensions/portal_by_daris/include/cache.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: Not a directory in /home/mark4321/public_html/forum/extensions/portal_by_daris/install.php on line 205

I think go back to extension and it is still listed as uninstalled but when I click the install link again I get this message:

An error was encountered

I got a "page not found" when I tried:
http://www.eroyton.co.uk/forum/admin/ex … ion=manage

My forum is installed to /forum/ directory.
The extension appears not to be installed because it is still listed at the top of the extensions page with the link "install extension"

Hmmm.! Any ideas?

I get the following error when I click "install extension"

An error was encountered

The error occurred on line 166 in /home/mark4321/public_html/forum/extensions/portal_by_daris/install.php

Database reported: Duplicate entry 'o_portal_news_forums' for key 1 (Errno: 1062).

This happened after I first tried install it I got some php error code. So I deleted the extension (using FTP) and then re-uploaded it and tried to install it again and got the above error code.

The extension is still in the list of extensions that have not been installed. This is version 2.4.2
Thanks for any help

I've been using 1.3 for about 2 months now and I love it. The extension system is brilliant, it makes being an admin tons of fun.

well if i decrease a users karma i have to motivate why i do it, so i get some sort of imput form to write a message about it.

Agreed. I like it

another idea: enable/disable the decreasing of the karma, so suers can only add karma points not take them away (ofcourse admins/mods can)

Not for me but good for other forums I'm sure

disable karma for users with less then a specifick number of posts, for example, only users that have 100 posts or more kan vote for the karma

Essential for me. Yes Please!!!
It stops people registering new accounts just so they can vote themself up or vote other people down & down & down

thanks.
Installed and testing smile
