Why would that be useful? Explain the benefit.

2 from Phillipines
1 from Pakistan (http://sonya55dslr.com/ in signature)
1 from Malaysia (http://www.calvetloans.us/)
1 from the UK

Re: pun_stop_bots (20 replies, posted in PunBB 1.3 extensions)
Thanks. The last time I tried pun_approval it didn't have an option to disable approval for posts.
Thanks for your thoughts about the Pakistani account possibly being human.
I could ask a question that they can't find out such as.... what colour is the new supermarket in Royton Town centre. That could get awkward though, I'd need to think of a better question.

Re: pun_stop_bots (20 replies, posted in PunBB 1.3 extensions)
I've had this extension installed for a couple of hours and have just had a new user registration which I'm sure is a spambot. It's the usual vague name plus a number at the end. I've checked the account with the geo extension and can see the account is from Pakistan. My forum is for people in a small town in England

Would anyone be upset if I bump this every 24 hours?
No BBCode = No fun

Oh yeah forgot that;
use this one - been working here for some time now...
OK I've installed the version from that topic.
Installation went well and I've set my custom question. I've registered a test account and can confirm that it wouldn't let me register with the wrong answer but it DID let me register with the right answer.
So I think that's cracked it.
I'll keep my eye on it for 24 hours and if it's worked then I'll be a very happy bunny.
Is there somewhere I can donate $10 for this extension please?

How many posts of spammers a day?
Have you tried stopforumspam extension? and/or URL checker extension? (or the combined extension)
I'm getting around 30-50 spambot registrations per day!
The fix is very simple. Just ask a simple question once during registration to prove the user is human. That would stop all spambots instantly and forever.

Re: pun_stop_bots (75 replies, posted in Supported extensions)
Is there any way to have this extension require the questions answered only for registration and not for posting?
Agreed. This extension was driving my users craaaayyzeee
It just needs to ask one question during registration and then never ask them again.
Can this be implemented?

Topic: The best anti spam I've ever seen on PunBB (1 replies, posted in PunBB 1.3 discussion)
OK so I'm getting something like 30 new spam accounts on my forum EVERY DAY and that's just rubbish.
Back on 1.2 somebody released a mod that let the admin choose a question that had to be correctly before your registration was successful. The question was always set to something easy such as "what is the capital of England".
It stopped spam instantly
So would the same idea work for 1.3?
Yours spammily

I'm having the same problem
- I've downloaded latest version of pun_bbcode
- I've refreshed the forum cash
- I've refreshed the extension hook
- I've disabled other extensions
But I still don't have any BBCode options.
Apparently, just one of my forum users says she can still see and use the options but nobody else can out of at least a dozen testers.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any help

I spent about an hour going through archives last night and found a couple of people with the same problem but none of the suggestions solved the problems.
To sum up

- I've refreshed the forum cash
- I've refreshed the extension hook
- I've disabled other extensions
But I still don't have any BBCode options.

Re: [Release] Hide tag (31 replies, posted in PunBB 1.3 extensions)
Yes indeed. I stripped them all out just for testing purposes but it made no difference. So then I stripped out all CITE and BLOCKQUOTE tags too but again, no difference at all. I even stripped out the ENTRY CONTENT div (or whatever it is called) and that made no difference either.
Very confusing indeed
Any ideas?

Re: [Release] Hide tag (31 replies, posted in PunBB 1.3 extensions)
Thanks!
I changed "quotebox" to "hidetext" and made a new entry in oxygen.css for "hidetext" and removed all borders and padding etc but it still had no effect on the styling.
I must be doing something wrong. Any ideas?
Cheers

Re: [Release] Hide tag (31 replies, posted in PunBB 1.3 extensions)
I like this but I'd rather the hidden text is displayed with much more discrete styling. So no CSS box and maybe just make the text italics or perhaps a different font. I'll check the code and see if I can do that myself.
Thanks very much for a very useful extension

If the below features don't exist and you think you can make them for me please send me a message with a price for making it. I can't pay much but I believe in rewarding good coders where possible.
1. Topics with no replies show as green. Topics with less than x replies show orange. Topics with more than x replies show as red. I'd love that. Is it possible?
2. Multiple avatars. Allow users to upload 3 different avatars and they can choose which one to assign to a particular post. This can let people reflect what mood they were in whilst posting.

They know all about that and I'm certain they are using.
I never had any cookie/logging out problems with 1.2 but have had lots of timing out issues with 1.3. Ah well I think it's back under control now.
Thanks
