In order to combat the latest perl worm you need to add these two lines:
RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} ^lwp-trivial [OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} ^LWP::Simple [OR]
I got hit over the weekend, my bandwidth got sucked up by it.

The plugin in a script that takes topics from a specific forum and generates static markup that you can then include on your front page.
One suggestion would be to display the number of replies at the forum for said news topic, like 'comments (7)'
PS: The preview is nice, especially when doing bbcode.
Bottom right.
Looks very nice, the site and the new forum.
The death toll in the tsunami disaster soared past 100,000 today - and is set to climb higher.
I'm using 1.2 but it should be the same for 1.1.5:
You have to edit the forum, then look for 'Sort topics by:'
I downloaded it yesterday and being the sort of person I am documented the database schema.
Did you look at the docs? The schema is already documented.

Happy Holidays to all.
I take it that this thread is related to the other one about incorporating PunBB into Power Portal?
There are many licenses to look at, the Mozilla Public license, the Apache license and of course, the GPL. And like Andy said, you can do your own.
The only reason I prefer GPL based software is that I can continue with it should the original author decide to abandon the code. I've been burned too many times learning the idiosyncracies of closed source software and then the company is bought out, goes under, etc. Then I have all this useless knowledge that I can' apply to anything else.
I'm not saying the Rickard will abandon PunBB anytime soon but times change, people change and priorities are re-sorted. I know that all the time I am spending on PunBB, is time well spent, time not wasted in my view.
John,
Is PowerPortal GPL?
Radek wrote a plugin to integrate PunBB with Blog:CMS and Nucleus.
Go here: http://nupusi.com/files/plugins/
There are 3 versions of it, 1.1.5, 1.2 and a 3.5.2 which is the latest for Blog:CMS but doesn't work with Nucleus.
The plugin does the following:
a) Creates a PunBB user when a user registers at Blog:CMS
b) Can create forum topics from blog posts
c) Can link to the forum topic from a blog post
At least you can see what has been done so far.
If anyone is running Debian Sarge, PHP 4.3.10 was just released.
I can now breath a sigh of relief :)
This from ISC:
Note: we earlier reported that it takes advantage of a php vulnerability. This does not seem to be the case. The worm exploits the 'highlight' bug in phpBB 2.0.10 and earlier. The current version of phpBB (2.0.11, released Nov. 18th) fixes this problem. Nevertheless, its still a good idea to update php.
lament, what did they do?
How do you know they used the latest exploit?
On my latest server I used the 'netinst CD image, with Debian base'.
It's a 100mb download for i386, it has the base system, then you just do a apt-get install whatever programs you want.
Nice forum look, we should have themes contest.
Ubuntu is getting a lot of headlines lately. Anything based on Debian has got to be good :)
Anybody seen this:

Seems to list a lot of bulletin board systems.
have you tried the ezpublish forums or the opensourcecms.com forums?
ARE COMPUTERS MALE OR FEMALE? YOU DECIDE
Top 5 Reasons Why Computers Must Be Male:
5. They're heavily dependent on external tools and equipment.
4. They periodically cut you off right when you think you've established a network connection.
3. They'll usually do what you ask them to do, but they won't do more than they have to and they won't think of it on their own.
2. They're typically obsolete within five years and need to be traded in for a new model. Some users, however, feel they've already invested so much in the damn machine that they're compelled to remain with an underpowered system.
1. They get hot when you turn them on, and that's the only time you have their attention.
Top 5 Reasons Computers Must Be Female:
5. No one but their creator understands their logic.
4. Even the smallest mistakes are immediately committed to memory for future reference.
3. The native language used to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else.
2. The message, "Bad command or filename," is about as informative as "If you don't know why I'm mad at you, then I'm certainly not going to tell you."
1. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your paycheck on accessories for it.
My favorite is the lady that put the mouse on the floor and was using her foot to turn on her computer. She was a seamstress :)
You can use FilesMatch, it's what we use in Nucleus to get urls from /index.php?itemid=1 to /item/1
The .htaccess file and code is in the /extra/fancyurls subdirectory
Now that I'm slowly getting more into CSS, I think I'll revisit Topstyle again. In the beginning it was all a bit confusing to me but I'm slowly getting over the hump.
Why bother, you can knock out a perfectly good web page in the time it takes DW to load.
You're right. I have every imaginable web page creation software and I just use UltraEdit for the bulk of what I do.
you can't affect anything directly with punbb plugins they basically just allow additional fucntions to be added not currect fuctions to be edited, but couldn't you just mod post.php to put the post though the "scanner"
Ok, I see. Well them yes, I guess you could mod post.php to get it to work.
Thanks for the insight.
