Yay! Great!

Hopefully the other countries follows... This whole patent-discussion just piss me off! I can't think of anything good that comes out ot the software patents. The whole idea feels ridiculous.

Just ask here instead and you'll probably find one faster than over AIM.

The easy solution is to remove all other styles :) Just remove the files in in Punbb/styles directory. You could alter the php-code a bit to if you want to remove the option.

Mods will stay "off site" (at punres that is), but the converters really should be here. I'll have a look at it tonight.

Well, I don't mind having them on your server :)

More PunBB to the people!

Sweet! Maybe we should put these babies up on the download page?

Yes, good idea! Can you take good care of my babies then? ;) Cactus page suck bigtime atm :P You could maybe have a converter-category, that links to PunRes. I think many people check your page for converters, and not PunRes.

PunRes 2.1 will have a Converter category ;)

And, not much left now. Just have to get the latest databases and update them. Then it's pretty much finished. But that lazy bamsefar don't fix the server so I can get them..

Hehe, okay :) Would be great if it could be online sometime soon... and I know how it is to try to get other people to do something =/

Rickard, have you thought about separating the code from the layout? Separation is good - if you provide code and layout/formatting in separate scripts, people will be able to change the looks of things without having to zigzag around the code, and without worrying if they'll be able to upgrade easily...

In my opinion this might be good if you just want to change some html-code, but it's a mess when making mods. I think it's easier to make some changes through CSS instead, or alter the php-code.

Sounds good, as long as it's still easy to customize. But of course, if it's pure CSS, it will be :)

Exactly.

I've been thinking of making different styles, but it's to much work to make any major changes (since it requires a mod to chang the php-files). I can (almost) only make color-changes, which is quote booring.

You can access the button-info from the Sender-pointer like this:

AnsiString caption = ((TButton*)Sender)->Caption

If you want to pass more stuff to the function add, just add it manually in the function, and don't forget to change the .h-file too.

Since we've talked alot about it in this thread and I've released a beta now, it needs an own topic here :) The converter is based on the same code as the PhpBB->PunBB converter, so it's pretty much the same settings and layout.

Since PunRes is down, I've put the files on the temporary server.

Nice blog, but for Gods sake lose the picture - you are scaring away all the hot blogger-chicks :-)

I think it's fun to see how people looks like "in the real world" :P

"hot blogger-chicks" <-- Do they relly exists or is it just a legend? ;)

Yes it is possible... don't fully understand what you mean though...

but my biggest reason for abandoning miniBB, is that I configured and installed miniBB v1.6, and then they updated it to v1.7, but they totally changed the entire layout implementation, to using more CSS - which in itself is good, but makes it straight out impossible to upgrade... if I want to upgrade to v1.7, I will have to do the entire visual customization from the ground up again! :(

Which is basically what will happen with PunBB in 1.2 :D

Hehe, exactly my thought :)

mindplay: Is it that hard to change it? It feels like it's quite easy to change something when it's just a CSS-file to edit.

I'm hosting my blog on my own server. When I update the blog, the actual HTML is generated on their server and is then automatically FTP'd to my server. It's weird, but it works :)

Ehh, sounds weird yes. Exactly why is this done?

The converter is done I think... hopefully there's no bugs left, so I've released it now. Will see if something bad happens :). I've uploaded the files to another server... PunRes seems to be down alot lately :(

I'm not converting interests and the icons (never thought of the icon-thing, might look at it.). This should not be that hard to change yourselt if you like it.

Just figured I'd drop back and let you know the conversion went pefectly! I never encountered a problem at all.

If you want to check out the results you can take a look i posted a link in the show off forum here:

Ahh, great! :) More PunBB to the people! :P

stewy wrote:

that would be great, or if the files aren't too big, you can send it to me via email.

Thanks a lot!

I've put them here instead.

Meilad wrote:

Is there a way to reverse this convertor?

No, there's not. You have to do a converter yourself if you want to change back. There's some converters at the PhpBB-download-page, but I don't think there's one for PunBB yet.

stewy wrote:

punres is down :(

Yeah, I know... I can upload the files to another server when I'm home if you like.

The purpose are that you don't have to search through all the posts/topics for your words. Instead the database just search through these tables to find out which posts to show to the user.

YES! It solved the problem! :)

I almost gave up there for a while, untill I found the export-menu :) Winder why you can't save it to EPS through 'Save as...'.
