On the page http://punbb.informer.com/downloads.php, a listing of language packs for versions 1.2.x can be found. In the accompanying text, it says:

The language packs are compatible with PunBB 1.2 and later.

It seems this is no longer true. Versions 1.3.x seem to require other language packs that can be found somewhere else: http://punbb.informer.com/wiki/punbb13/language_packs
I now get calls for support because I created a language pack for version 1.2 and people attempt to use it with some version 1.3.x.

Could someone please update the information on http://punbb.informer.com/downloads.php to show users where to find their language packs for versions 1.3.x?

With regards to PunBB 1.3, is it useful to start working on the Dutch language pack? How many changes are to be expected in the current set of languages scripts in Revision 1054: /branches/punbb-1.3-dev/upload/lang/English?

roll Ahum, thanks. Does exactly what I was asking for.

As far as I know, there is currently no mechanism on this site that will send anouncements to me about updates of punbb.

Would it be a good idea to start a topic in a forum to which new updates are added as replies rather than as new post? Anyone interested could then just subscribe to this topic and get notification by e-mail. If the forum would only allow replies of the people involved in the project, there would be no noise.

It would require very little effort and I wouldn't miss any update. smile

When a user is banned from a Bulletin Board, he or she will receive notification of this.

I have been trying this with one of a few test account I have on my demo forum. The login menu is changed to "Logout" and so it remains whenever I open the board again. The user has the option "Save username and password between visits." switched on, which of couse causes this automatic login behaviour.

The problem is that I cannot change to another user account, including the board administrator. So I think that the user should either not be logged in or should be able to log out.

Or is this a way to prevent banned users from creating another account?

The ban expires tomorrow, so then the problem will be solved for me.

Somewhat of a hypothetical problem, but I came across it while testing...

Are you sure you haven't forgotten to escape a quote somewhere? Maybe you forgot a comma at the end of a line?

It were the single quotes. The program does not add the escape character by itself. Of course, I could have seen it by looking at the occasional don\'t etc.

Well, it seems to be a problem with my laguage files. PunTranslator saves the files using line feed and carriage return (I am running the windows binary), while the original files only contain newlines. replacing my Dutch language files with the English one created a second laguage succesfully (allthough not very useful, as all is still English).

This was nonsense. My FTP client didn't recognize .php files as text files.

The translation has been completed. Please take a look at http://www.bluetoken.com/demo/btbb/index.php and leave any remarks, if you have them.

Great. I could help, if you want.

Yes please. First, take a look at the demo site: http://www.bluetoken.com/demo/btbb/. Please register and you'll be able to post test e-mails. If you think what I am doing is OK, please let me know and we can share the language files for further translation. By the way, I am doing the translation by editing the files with a simple text editor.

Hi All,

I would like to let you know that I am busy creating a dutch language pack for PunBB 1.2.1. If you are also planning to do this, please let me know, by answering to this topic. Maybe we could work together...

Well,
Im am not sure. I would expect that PunTranslator takes care of all that. I have only modified the files throught the UI of PunTranslator.

Hi All,

I am busy writing a language pack for the Dutch language. I am using PunTranslator for that. I started copying all contents of upload\lang\English to a new folder upload\lang\Dutch and started translation a few words. I than uploaded the folder Dutch to my website. Logged in as Administrator, I was able to modify the default language to Dutch. That didn't help me, so I changed the language in my profile to Dutch. That caused PunBB to never return anything else than <html><body></body></html> (sic).
1. I hit the Back button of my browser in an attempt to modify the setting back, which seemed to work, but didn't solve the problem.
2. I checked the mySQL table 'config' and found an entry 'o_default_lang' that was 'Dutch' and modified it to become 'English'. That didn't help.
3. I changed my user's profile setting through the table 'users', no result.
4. I uploaded all files from the dsitribution file punbb-1.2.1.zip again, it didn't help me.

Then, I uploaded to another folder, reinstalled using a different tabel prefix and a new forum was born that works well.

Finally, I cleaned up the cache folder, leaving only the file index.html, and all was OK!

Does anybody have a clue as to what has caused this? By the way, I was only setting up the forum, so no real harm is done here. I posted this mainly to notify this problem and the work-around. If anybody is interested, I will try to reproduce the problem and report.

Well, downloading won't work: Object not found!

Nothing about it at www.mindplay.dk, or rather, hardly anything at all at www.mindplay.dk

Does anybody know if this translator is still supported?

I've was using PunTranslator, but I had some problems with input methods and whatnot, so I finally just decided to make my own tool for it.
