Yeah, you uh, might wanna fix that.  It's not hard to customise things yourself, you know.

Great colour big_smile

Hey guys,

I've recently been approved for Adsense (woo!) and have popped the ads on my site and forum.  However, I'm not sure how well they're going to work...see, I've integrated them into the look and feel, trying to make them look 'natural'.  The thing is, though, I don't want people to skim over them without realising that they're there.

I was wondering if a few of you design gurus could take a look and tell me what your opinions are, and if you have any recommendations.

Thanks everyone smile

IE Mac is immune from the problem because the hack which sends a percentage font size to IE Win is designed to exclude IE Mac.

Your body font-size is 62.5% which is 10px so you should set the percentage font-size for .pun to 100%.

Thanks, Paul.  Made the fix smile

Ataxy, Rickard:  Thanks you guys smile  SpinkBB made it pretty easy, I can't take all the credit!

Paul:  Thanks for the heads up, I'll fix that up soon smile

Dimmy:  Edit main.tpl, that's the easiest way.

That looks excellent.  Fantastic integration - this is exactly what I like to see.

Great job! big_smile

I can't get to your forum.  The banner won't let me use your drop down menu.

James, the comments on the front page, come from where?

They're a part of Xcomic, the comic management script I use.  I like to think of them as my 'director's commentary' on my comics tongue  They've got nothing to do with PunBB.

how are you able to post more than one news story on the frontpage? i thought Xcomic only had the ability to show one?

Mike did a hack for me...it'll be in .82, I'm pretty sure.

This made my forum look awesome.

I'm just worried that it'll break when new versions come out.  I hate when that happens sad

I just launched a comic website with a friend of mine, and we needed a forum...and, after a few tweaks and learning the skinning system (then copping out and using spinkbb tongue), my forum is up.

Check it out, I'd love some feedback from you guys smile

The contest could be held to determine a new 'default' style for PunBB.  That'll really get people moving.

Dear god - release that to the public.  I'm no css novice, but there's no way I could do something like that by myself.

Incredible and so so clean

Now you just have to sort out the font sizes for IE.

And skin the damn thing tongue

Never mind, I got it working.  I just had to enter a full path (http://www.le-comique.com/comic/styles/new/layout.css) to the css file to make it work.

Thanks for reading, though tongue smile

I don't use tables.  Well, not true.  I have one because I can't do these stupid inline divs.

Check the source of /comic/index.php if you wanna see how I've got it set up

I love how everything here is done with CSS.  So clean!

Hey everyone,

I've got a site up and running (http://www.le-comique.com/comic), and I want my forum to be integrated into the look of that site, so that the forum appears in the white area.  Problem is, I can't seem to do it.  I've modified main.tpl, but, all I can come up with is this:  http://www.le-comique.com/forum

I copied the css over from the /comic part into a subdir of /forum and linked to it in there, but, for some reason, nothing's being applied.  Any suggestions?

Thanks guys,

James

Excellent smile

As a side note, native UTF-8 would be fantastic.  You could even support KLINGON with that, and that would be so awesome tongue

There's Latin-3 (I think that's what it's called), but, it breaks on so many computers.  All the old sites had it before utf-8 became popular, and the accented characters show up as percentage signs, or copyright symbols...it's just horribly broken tongue

I could change every accented character to its official workaround (h after the letter), though.  It's not perfect but it works as it doesn't need any encoding switching.  Just gimme a yell when UTF-8 is working, though, and I'll fix it up.

Only problem is that I've gotta go back and re-edit a bunch of stuff, but that's cool as long as you don't mind waiting a few more days tongue smile

I've uploaded my (very) incomplete translation at http://kafumi.net/forumoj/index.php.  It's on as default, so you can see the progress by constantly refreshing tongue

Elkore,

Ghejmzo.
