I hate to keep bumping a thread but feel I'm being patient smile I've tried emailing the author of "thread title in last post column" mod but no reply as yet. Would love to see this on our board so if anyone can help us out it would be really appreciated smile

Thanks Dr. Jeckyl smile

Posted some screens up in the first post as guests can't preview the chat rooms which have also been individually styled http://chopaway.com/rov2/img/smilies/22.gif.

Trying to make a great fansite for Guns N Roses and getting plenty of members signing up to our new PunBB powered forum already smile

Less than a week since we opened with only one link used to promote our site (bar this thread also):

Users: 45
Topics: 110
Posts: 1684

Post count is so high due to the ajax chat counting each inidividual chat-message as an actual post for some odd reason. Still, we've had loads of active chats with fans already this week which shows people are enjoying the site and returning big_smile

Been working on a GNR fansite for some friends who recently lost there board and hosting. Only been working on it for a week or so and needs some more work but early opinions are welcome smile Used quite a few mods including styleswitcher, user maps, ajax chat and weve worked on 9 different styles so far though they each need there own little tweaks still.

Preview four of the 9 skins :

[Izzy,Slash and Duff]                [Appetite]                       [Bumblefoot]                         [Izzy]

(One major flaw to the designs, which I argued against, is the site is set to a 900px width which buggers it up for 800x600 users, and even the 1024x768 users)

Thanks for the great software

You guys deserve your sponsorship smile Providing PunBB stays as easy to use in future releases I will continue to support it.

Excellent mod, its working perfectly smile Is it possible to pull news from more than one forum id though?

Still looking for help on this one if anyone could take a look. The code I have to replace in fpougets proposition is no longer in index.php after I have installed the sub-forums mod:

fpouget wrote:

// If there is a last_post/last_poster.
    if ($cur_forum['last_post'] != '')
        $last_post = '<a href="viewtopic.php?pid='.$cur_forum['last_post_id'].'#p'.$cur_forum['last_post_id'].'">'.format_time($cur_forum['last_post']).'</a> <span class="byuser">'.$lang_common['by'].' '.pun_htmlspecialchars($cur_forum['last_poster']).'</span>';
    else
        $last_post = ' ';

Any help is appreciated, thanks smile

I'm using the Youtube BB Code mod found at : http://www.punres.org/viewtopic.php?id=1790

The mod works fine, but I wondered if there was any easy way to create a youtube button - similiar to the bb buttons  Rickard made available in Easy BB Code mod?

Thanks smile

I am having trouble getting both of these mods working together.

I am changing the date/time in the 'last post column' to display the thread titles, using fpouget's proposition:

http://wiki.punres.org/Last_post%27s_su … orum_index

and the SubForums mod is version 1.0.9.2.

There are only two changes made in index.php for the last post mod. Hope someone a little more php experienced can show me how to get this working again smile

Many thanks

Seems to be working again now.... I'll stop posting every time it goes down from now on hehe. Jansson must be playing with the server or something.

I tried to access Punres.org last night but it wouldn't respond. I tried again just now and received the below error message. I emailed the address shown below and received a "Mail Undeliverable" reply instantly.

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@punres.org and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Anyone know whats happening?

Im looking for a mod which would allow profile URLs to be re-written, for lack of a better word. Change from:

/profile.php?id=1209

to

/smartys

(for example)

I presume this is a large mod and have some money put aside if someone thinks they can code this up for a quote smile It might be better to wait for 1.3 but not sure how long until a beta release is announced :s

Many Thanks

Has anyone here ever leased a domain name?

The one I want is already taken, though currently unused, and the guy who owns it has said I can lease the domain.

My problem with this is; would I have any legal ground to stand on should this owner suddenly terminate the lease and decide to sell the domain (conveniently after I had built a nice steady flow of traffic to the site)

I dont want to waste time building up a site on a leased domain if you guys think it will cause problems down the line, especially considering I could buy my own domain for a couple of $$.

Any feedback / advice appreciated, many thanks

Open the font page of your site in a plain text editor and use one of the following examples from Punbb's extern.php

    Show the 15 most recently active topics from all forums:
    include('http://yourdomain.com/yourforumsrootfolder/extern.php?action=active');

    Show the 10 newest topics from forums with ID 5, 6 and 7:
    include('http://host.com/forums/extern.php?action=new&show=10&fid=5,6,7');

    Show users online:
    include('http://host.com/forums/extern.php?action=online');

    Show users online with full listing of users:
    include('http://host.com/forums/extern.php?action=online_full');

    Show board statistics:
    include('http://host.com/forums/extern.php?action=stats');

If the front page of your site is called "index.html" you must rename is "index.php" for this to work.

Hi,

Has anyone here used Gallery2? Would you mind posting a little feedback about how you found the software? I'm mainly looking to hear your thoughts about how easy it was to style (in comparison to Punbb), how feature heavy you consider the software to others?

If you know of other, similiar photo management open source solutions please post some ideas here.

I am looking for something light weight that will be easy to maintain. It should also have the ability to let users register, upload photos etc. I have looked at Punbb Gallery Mod but that isnt really what I need, it would take a lot of changes to suit my needs I think.

Many Thanks

Just found this website through StumbleUpon and it works pretty cool. Input your CSS file and it will remove or shorten any unneccessary code.

Here are the original files for the Store/Order Form.

http://www.pitseleh.co.uk/kevin/forum/Order.zip

As Quaker originally posted, to make it fit your board style you simply call the header and footer information. Do the following in order.php and form.php:

<?php

define('PUN_ROOT', './');
define('PUN_QUIET_VISIT', 1);
require PUN_ROOT.'include/common.php';
//if ($pun_user['g_read_board'] == '0')                         <!--remove the // for members only -->
//    message($lang_common['No view']);            <!--remove the // for members only -->

//Hide contest from Guest
//if ($pun_user['is_guest'])                                            <!--remove the // for members only -->
//   message($lang_common['No permission']);               <!--remove the // for members only -->

//Set the page title here
$page_title = pun_htmlspecialchars($pun_config['o_board_title']) . ' / Store';
define('PUN_ALLOW_INDEX', 1);
require PUN_ROOT.'header.php';
require PUN_ROOT.'include/parser.php';

?>

put your body here and it will work

<?php

require PUN_ROOT.'footer.php'; ?>

To get PayPal to work the code should be:

        <form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post">
          <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_xclick">
          <input type="hidden" name="business" value="you@youremail.com">
          <input type="hidden" name="item_name" value="Order">
          <input type="hidden" name="amount" value="<?php echo $grand_tot ?>">
          <input type="hidden" name="no_note" value="1">
          <input type="hidden" name="currency_code" value="GBP">
          <input type="hidden" name="lc" value="GB">
          <input type="hidden" name="bn" value="PP-BuyNowBF">
          <input type="image" src="https://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/x-click-but23.gif" border="0" name="submit" alt="Make payments with PayPal - it's fast, free and secure!">
          <img alt="" border="0" src="https://www.paypal.com/en_GB/i/scr/pixel.gif" width="1" height="1">
        </form>

I cant get the grand total to carry over to PayPal if I call my punbb header and footer information though. Without the PunBB info the code works fine ~ it is only after I replace my normal <html> tags with the <php> tags that is stops carrying across to PayPal.

I'd like to see your API mod quaker big_smile I did have a mate switch from using an array and build it into a sql database but it wasn't linked to PunBB at all so probably useless for this cause tongue

Hi quaker, I just had a quick play with the order form now and I think I hit the same problem you had a long time ago....

When I run the order form it is able to carry the total amount over to PayPal without a problem. As soon as I include the PunBB header and footer it doesn't seem to work though. It just comes up blank.

This was turning into a nice little mod, and a store mod is always requested.... anybody else want to try and get this thing off the ground?

quaker wrote:

i had a few people work on it til the main people gave up on the idea...

lol. now it just emails you a copy of the reciept.

Q

Hmm, I was the one who originally posted that order form ~ I had it for the sole purpose of emailing me with information on the purchase ~ it wasn't meant to be used as a "store mod", though I'm glad a few of you seem to have tried.

If your interested quaker, I do have a version which allowed PayPal payments. I have no intention of releasing it as a mod but if you are wanting to port it into Punbb I can send you the files.

Let me know,
Will

Hi

I am running ConnorHDs Private Message mod and wondered if there was any who could hack the mod a little to add an extra feature?

I need an option for members to report spam private messages. Just a simple 'report to admin', so that the PM in question will forward along to me to read... Then I can ban whoever originally sent it.

I know the point of Private Messaging is for them to be Private, but if someone complains about a spam PM it is there word against the accused spammer.

Is this a needed mod, or am I overlooking something simple which allows me to do this already?

Thanks

I did a quick search on this forum and found no mention of this site so wondered if anyone else has heard of it?
