Is it a big change?
no other arguments!

thanks for your work daris, good stuff!

when you click the 'Forum' link is it possible to have the forum display in the middle of the page with the left and right navigation columns on either side???

like this:

ps - 'Articles' # 'User list' # 'Search' # 'Register' # 'Login' # 'Charts'   <----  these should all open in the middle, not fullscreen...it would be cooler!

great idea: http://research.microsoft.com/asirra/

do you mean extensions that will be included and enabled by default in the 1.3 pun install?

@Smartys
any e.t.a.? starting working on it? is there a prototype I can beta test?

@Adam Atlas
Thanks, good idea smile

is anyone working on one???

there really needs to be a 'forum timezone' and 'forum time' showing...
in this example: '12:36:13 today' really means nothing if the member is in another country/timezone from the server...

yeah looking sexy!
but shouldn't the RSS buttons etc be orange?

thanks Rickard for the update, can we get more regular updates like maybe weekly?
cheers!

punbb 1.3 now with kaspersky plugin hehehe!!

for the future of pun, maybe it's better if any of the 7 developers are too busy they should step down and handover to someone else who can do it...
the 'All Tickets by Milestone' page should have another column called: 'due by' to show when the developer expects to have the ticket closed by...
Rickard any e.t.a. for the Extension system?

cheers, works well, but I really want to still have the timestamp but have the "posted 47 minutes ago" after the timestamp in brackets
that's the best of both worlds!!

bump come on *soontoes* tongue
or does anyone else wanna try?

where do you paste that code?
what code do you replace?
filenames to edit and line numbers would help me a lot

I find it much clearer and more informative at a glance, than looking at the date and time, then comparing it to the current date and time, etc.

I agree, this would be way more meaningful!!

can someone please mod this now for 1.2? (no point waiting for extensions to 1.3 - it ain't even finished...)
I'm no expert but this sounds pretty easy to do/minimal files to change smile

thanks soonotes, any chance you can make a plugin instead of a mod?
big_smile

can we have a filter to see all posts from *all* forums and sub-forums on one page plus the ability to just show all forums and the ability to change the default view for your forum

Vanilla forum does this well

So it seems like the plan should be:
-get 1.3-beta out ASAP so that programmers can write/re-write a multitude of anti-spam extensions/plugins using the new 1.3 hooks
am I right? smile

yes exactly, that way it can never be predicted/scripted
e.g. the admin supplys 20 human question and answer' sets (not mathematical equations) and they are randomly chosen each time someone registers

I think that the "anti-captcha" should be personalised by the admin, and should not be a hard-coded question for example. Like a question and answer defined by the admin for example, but one can find another solution, I don't know.

I totally sympathise with calende. My forum is now closed off for new registrations as these spam-bots seem to be able to get past e-mail verification.
The thing is that once you code some kind of 'human-testing' system into the registration, these punks are gonna reverse engineer it sad
We need something that has no pattern or is random, so that they can't pre-script/predict and supply the 'answer' - maybe when someone registers the admin gets e-mailed a template which they fill out with a custom question, when they click 'send' and that gets e-mailed to the bot.

but if you make it too complex, it will be a real hassle to bother registering...a real catch 22

the last thing I wanted to read was someone getting defensive and saying: well it's not a 'bug'

This is as important as a buffer overflow/exploit. Developers should stop working on 1.3 until this is addressed in 1.2
Out-of-the-box pun installs are too vulnerable to spam.

I'd rather think about what I'm getting for Xmas than 1.3 - it's will be a long wait sad

does anyone have a sample script of what these bots do?
-would renaming register.php to something else help and what would be the repercussions?

I just had 3 new spambot registrations and there are spam texts cluttering my board now...*sigh*

does anyone know if captcha or some image-based security code will be implemented into ver 1.3 or even a plugin?
-this has got to be a core feature!!!

http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/8792/untitled666gw0.jpg

getting a lot of spambots signing up to my forum lately
-is there a plugin for this?
-or can this feature be included in ver 1.2.16
