I agree. And that some persons aren't bothered doesn't mean that it would not be more userfriendly with just one forum.
It took me a while to even understand that there was two forums. Then you need to register twice, you can't search both forums at once and you most log in to both forums if using another computer then your own.
I'm not complaining, but I just think it would be better for punbb with just one forum.
The problem I have with a single, unified forum is that the official forum (this one) needs to be as close to a stock install as possible, for demonstration purposes. A separate site for mods and styles, like Punres, alllows for special additions, like the project and style system, the board stats, and the wiki.

Where did you put it and how did you go about doing so? What errors occured?
FYI You'll need to change the $forum_id and similar variables, and you'll need to change the checks for what page you're on.
It is quite doable with some modding to the code, although personally I don't see such a trivial change as worth the trouble.
Hopefully this will work out:
DIV.blockpost H2 SPAN A {FONT-SIZE: whatever}
Do you want the number on the right shrunk as well?
StevenBullen wrote:@pogenwurst why you double posting?
It's the twice-on-the-userlist bug - it duplicates posts as well. If you had looked, you'd have noticed that the post IDs were the same.
No worries.

Huh?

Take a look at the shoutbox on the demo page StevenBullen set up.
At one point, I was an extension junkie, and had a huge amount of extensions. Here's a list from back then that I posted on my own forum:

This website provides PunBB, a PHP-based forum software package, for download. To use it, you must possess a web hosting account on which to install it. Most web hosts that fulfill PunBB's requirements charge for their services, although you may find some that host for free, often in exchange for ad space. PunBB.org does not provide hosting.
Alternatively, you may run a PunBB forum at one of several free forum hosts, such as MyPunBB.com.

Do you simply want to change the text size?

If they're causing trouble, shouldn't you just ban them from the forum as a whole?

Very much agreed. Several of its features are invaluable.
As for extensions in general, when you have 60+ extensions like I did at one point in time things can get messy. However 20 or less extensions usually don't cause a problem (I've got 13 installed at the moment).
Look on the downloads page for the Broadcast Email plugin.
gog wrote:@pogenwurst, if you know googlebots ip address what's the point in presenting itself as MSIE anywhey
Hmm, you have a point with that, although cloaking via the user agent would be at least slightly easier, as you would just need to regex the UA for "Google" and you'd catch most everything, whereas gathering the necessary IP addresses to catch all or most of Google's bots could prove at least a bit difficult (there are lists available on the web, although I'm unsure of their accuracy or completeness). Disguising Googlebot certainly isn't a perfect solution to fight cloaking, but it's a start.
ajank wrote:The same problem exists with Mozilla (Firefox).
Yep, I've experienced this a few times as well, and it's been quite annoying.
gog wrote:@pogenwurst, what if google consumes to much bandwith of your site and you want to block it? This is just one of the examples...
I guess one option would be to ban the IP address, which would be what you would do with any user that is consuming an excessive amount of bandwidth.
My 2 cents: I'd like to see a mod release forum remain here, except with replies disabled, so that actual discussion is restricted to Punres.

gog wrote:Rickard wrote:gog wrote:I'm not so shure I agree. That would effect your statistics and wouldn't provide google with the means to "check your honesty" by switching his bot's header to something else and comparing the output.
It would affect the statistics, yes, but if Googlebot appeared as IE6, how would you cloak?
Everything has it's pros & cons, like everything else in life
Personally I'd rather have statistics affected than search results.
Xaritix wrote:I mean like the people who join the EU team have only access to the public forums and their divisional forums, but I mean any suggestions for any forum softwear
I see.
I knew you meant any forum software, but depending on what your question was, PunBB could have fulfilled your requirements. That's why I asked for clarification.
gog wrote:And I'm not so shure how well would PunBB stand with a couple of milions of posts, tens of thousunds of users, etc...
MacAddict Forums:
Total number of registered users: 23940
Total number of topics: 80396
Total number of posts: 1230071
When you say "only have access to their divisional forum category thing," do you mean access to read or access to moderate? If the latter is true, you should note that PunBB already allows you to specify which forums a user can moderate. If the former is true, I guess there wouldn't be much you could do until 1.3 is released, at least without some modding.
falconflyz wrote:Oh it is not Cloaking: the content presented to the Bot is not different from that presented to the members.
You can see how it is possible to handel this function with I.P.B on this screen:
http://punbbmania.byethost16.com/screens/admin.html
Whether you call it cloaking or not, it still sounds a bit shady to me. But whatever, if you don't have a problem with it neither do I.
