Just noticed this - admin_options.php gives me this error:

Warning: main(./include/pms/admin_options.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /mnt/web_g/d20/s22/a000skup/www/awesome/forum/admin_options.php on line 429

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required './include/pms/admin_options.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/nf/lib/php') in /mnt/web_g/d20/s22/a000skup/www/awesome/forum/admin_options.php on line 429

It's messed up a bit too. No style, no header/footer, many of the options missing.

This might be a mistake I made during the upgrade. Any ideas?

Hmm, i can't duplicate that, could you tell me some stuff, is it an upgrade or clean install (the pm mod not punbb), and does that member have any other PMs in their inbox that they can read?, and what is there username (does it have any funny characters). Also if you send a PM to yourself can you read it?

It's an upgrade. No PMs in inbox whatsoever. Sent PMs appear fine in the sent box, however. The username is "test user of death" (no quotes). I cannot read a PM sent to myself, neither with my admin account (pogenwurst) nor my test account (test user of death). Also, I cannot send from my test account to my admin account either.

EDIT: Crap i just checked the footer.php and i cant find that "<<"... hmm what is being loaded before the footer..

Post more of your source and them maybe someone can help you.

When I send messages to a forum member, the percentage in the inbox increases, but new messages don't show up.

<<div id="brdfooter" class="block">
    <h2><span>Board footer</span></h2>
    <div class="box">
        <div class="inbox">
            <p class="conr">Powered by <a href="http://punbb.org/">PunBB</a><br />© Copyright 2002–2005 Rickard Andersson</p>
            <div class="clearer"></div>
        </div>
    </div>
</div>

There you go. I like your active posts box. How'd you add it in?

Ok, I sent you a reply to your email.

I'm still blocked.

I'll contact my host if you want. Just tell me what to ask.

Thanks!

The current PM mod works fine for me.

I sent you my phpinfo. It's been a few hours now - still blocked.

Sorry, but I really have no idea what to do in terms of this pinging stuff.

I can access your test site fine.

If it helps at all, here are the other mods to my functions.php:
Change Page Links 1.0.1 by Michael Lanman
Private Messaging System (PMS) 1.2.1 by David Djurbäck and Connorhd
Invitations 1.0.1 by Tobi Schulz - all of this is commented out
You Can See Profile! 2.0 by Krzysztof Pawelek

My IP should be on its way.

My host (Netfirms) uses Apache/1.3.26 (Unix) mod_perl/1.26 according to phpinfo();

I don't desire protection for every page. Just a handful. common_admin.php was simply the first of those I tested.

I was going to wait for the next version, but I got impatient. It sounds nice.

Thanks for your help.

Smartys: Just out of curiousity, did the solution you posted in that last thread work?

I encountered this issue before too.

Well, what did you write in your common.php file? You should only have added spam_protect();, and *not* spam_protect('127.0.0.2');. That was only intended for testing...

Other than that, as long as your IP isn't listed at Spamhaus, you should not be blocked, no matter what.

Just spam_protect();

However, I added it to the bottom of common_admin.php, not common.php. Any possible problem there?

Is there any way to reset your cached copy of the Spamhaus database? My forum is blocking my IP, which I looked up in the Spamhaus database. Spamhaus said that it could not find my IP.

If the IP you are checking is not in our database, but you are receiving bounce messages saying it is, then it is probable the IP has been removed from our database but DNS servers around the internet have not yet updated. In this case, wait 1-2 hours and the blocking should clear by itself.

Here's the message I'm receiving on my forums:

ERROR: Your IP address «XXXXXXXXX» is currently blocked by due to one, or more, of the following reasons:

    * Spam
    * Open proxy
    * Worms/viruses
    * Other form of trojan-horse exploits

Please visit The Spamhaus Project for more details ?

It's been about half an hour since I first got the message. How do I get rid of it?

Also, I think that a nice feature (at least for my forums) would be to not block any IPs that are already registered.

yes.

as a suggestion why don't we chage it to, you must add a [html] [/Html] inorder to write in html. I know many other forum software do that

I agree. That would be nice.

I'm not sure about mods being "sold," but maybe volunteers could install mods for people for a reasonable price, with proceeds going to PunBB and/or the mod's author.

Dwaggy wrote:

Perhaps running strip_tags before htmlspecialchars on normal user posts would fix that? Hmm

If you do do that, you should probably convert applicable tags to BBCode first.

I found out about sBLOG today and I installed it to give it a test drive. It seems nice, but I'm not sure if I want to spend time moving my weblog (which is currently powered by Blogger.... ugghhh) to it. Does anyone have any experience with it (I know that the developer is a member here, as well as several users)? What advantages does it have over other systems? Right now, it doesn't seem spectacular, but I know from experience with Firefox, Thunderbird, PunBB, etc that software may not seem all that great at first, but once you go in to detail, you can discover how great it really is.

If you enable debug mode, then post back with the error message, someone might be able to get a better idea of how to help you.

Nice. big_smile

What's the deal with the music page - does it involve a script you wrote, or do you just manually edit it, or what? I like it.

Could your forum's style be adding borders?

Also, I'm not sure what you should use instead, but your current layout takes FOREVER to load, even with DSL.

Thanks guys. I also found & banned the following:

http://www.spamhole.com/
http://www.spamgourmet.com/

Does anyone know of any others?

Cool! I'll have to add it to my to-mod list.
