Topic: Tables In Punbb? Why are they messed up?

I am trying to use a table for my punbb header and it looks correct when formatted as normal HTML. I copied the code into my main.tpl but it doesnt seem to be working correctly?

I have set all the borders to "0" so anyone know why the borders are still showing up? You can view the demo here:

If someone can either tell me how to remove the borders, or if anyone has a suggestion other than tables I would be very greatful.

Could your forum's style be adding borders?

Also, I'm not sure what you should use instead, but your current layout takes FOREVER to load, even with DSL.

PunBB sets table borders in the stylesheet. Try adding an id to your table e.g. <table id="mytable"
Then in the stylesheet somewhere try
#mytable, #mytable td, #mytable th {border: none}

P.S. It loads instantly for me - 512kb ADSL.

Thanks for the suggestions guys Im looking into your ideas now smile I think it was loading slow as I was re-uploading some files after posting my message here, maybe tha affected it?

Incidentally, PunBB also adds padding to cells in the stylesheet. You might want to make what I gave you above
#mytable, #mytable td, #mytable th {border: none; padding: 0}

You know, I've been doing tableless stuff for so long now I can't even visualise what your markup does. Last time I saw a spacer gif it was being pecked at by a Dodo smile
