You don't need to know php (very well if any) to play with PunBB, just edit a CSS sheet and possilbe tweak a little format stuff. smile

Very nice integration of forums into the site! smile

Hey, another big thanks ps21. smile Skinning my boards would have taken a lot longer without your guide. With that right beside me, I had it done in 15 minutes. That's what I like to see. wink

Hey, I don't know about you guys but I tried viewing my site and then my forums with Netscape and it was bad news. My forums didn't even load for some reason, so I thought I'd come here to see if it was just me. Well, punbb.org did load, but it was so jumbled and disorganized that I was forced to quit. My conclusion was Netscape is of very low quality. sad

Over time, I find myself liking IPB less and less. I really respect phpBB and their passion for what they do. Go phpBB! smile

Okay, I see what you are talking about. I'll see what I can do for that.
Thanks for the suggestion, I was a little rushed and not coding to the best of my ability. tongue

Okay, I don't really know what everyones views are on this, but on my forums I like to have a quick way for people to get back to my homepage (index.html) from the forums. On Kennel's version here, he stuck the "Go back to PunBB.org" link in the top right, but that doesn't come with the download version. So, I just toyed with the idea of turning the Board Title into a link. If you don't get what I mean, just check out my boards in my sig and click on the title.

Since some people just have boards and no website, it might be useful if it was a toggle option and have a text area to simply enter the url for the link. Anyways, just a thought. smile

Well, I decided to put my webspace to use today and threw something together. Hopefully, I can actually utilize it a little more in the future. Anyway, I stuck some PunBB in there because I just love this forum. smile

I also played with the styles and made my own to match the site. Let me know what you guys think and what should be changed.

Oh, one more thing, the site is best viewed with Opera because of the dashed lines.

Personally, I recommend www.hostultra.com smile

MySQL will be no problem. You'll have a database dedicated to your forum. The network connection is 100mbps. Trust me, with how light PunBB is, there will be no problems.

Nice work man. Looked good to me so far, have to put it to the test. wink

Okay, I'm now offering free hosting for PunBB on my webspace.

Advantages
- roughly 25 mb disk space
- your own MySql 4.0.14 database
- free subdomain at http://yourdomain.hewitt.hostultra.com (i'm working on getting a domain, please be patient)
- free web-based email through your subdomain
- no adds
- no hidden fees wink

Disadvantage
- no ftp support (sorry, I can't pull it off)
- crappy domain as of now

You can add mods and such to your forums if you can supply me with the files for upload. I am currently working on setting up multiple ftp accounts but it will take a little while. If anyone is interested, just drop me an email at the link below in my user info.

Important Note!
There are not scripts involved here and everything will be accepted by me personally. When you write an email to apply for free hosting, please include the following...

- Subject Line: PunBB Hosting
- Your name
- Your website URL
- Desired sub-domain
- Admin Username
- Admin Password

That's it, enjoy! smile

Know somebody fine FREE webhosting for board - PunBB?
-PHP min. 4.2.0
-SMTP email allowed (fsockopen)
-MySQL minimum 10-15 MB (ideal FTP+SQL=>20MB)
-Reasonable MySQL restriction - connect/hour (min.200) querry/hour (min.1800) Ideal

unlimited (eh,eh)

I don't need counters, polls,CGI, but I want about 20MB storage for database, sent

unlimited email (fsockopen), and good MySQL-equal to 200 active members at hour...

Reasonable banner doesn't matter.
