I'd like to close all threads on my board for which the last reply was more than 8 months ago. Is it possible to do this through PhpMyAdmin? I was told I could do this with a cron job, but I really feel uncomfortable doing that since I haven't tried it before.

Hi MattF, thanks for your reply. You said "Cron job." Can you give me an example of how to use a cron job to accomplish this? I don't have any experience using cron jobs to enhance PunBB.

Is there a way to automatically close threads that are older than, say, a year? I have a few users who will accidentally post "that's cool" to a thread that's super old and it's mildly annoying smile

I looked at the email that the students received and it arrived with no body at all - but yes, the subject was there and it was addressed properly.

I sent a registration email to myself (GMail) and it worked fine. But when I tried "forgot password," that email was sent to me without a body or subject. Looking in the header, "mailed-by" says "yourhostingaccount.com".

Did I miss a setting somewhere? I looked through admin options and wasn't able to find any fields with "yourhostingaccount.com" in them.

Some of my newly-registered users are not receiving the body text of emails they get from the forum for things like "forgot password." Any way to fix this? Is it a known problem with some (Windows Live mail) providers?

My host is doing some MySQL upgrades...could that be the source of the problem? What should I say to them or ask them? I just want to be sure I get this fixed because it's annoying.

OK, I looked and realized the announcement box allows HTML. Very cool. Now, the problem is:

1) Says "announcements" at the top...how can I change that to "Highlights"?

2) The announcements box spreads 100% across the window, but I'll probably using a maximum of 500 pixels. Is there a way to fit the box to the images and center it?

Wow, that's pretty slick. I wouldn't need the full gallery function, just the ability to update the header with graphics that link to a new thread every so often. If there is a simple, "proper" way to do this, I'd love to know about it.

I run a graphics forum and I would like to have a small "features" gallery at the top of the forum if possible, like:

If you click one of the images it takes you to the relevant forum thread. Is it possible to do this with PunBB, and if so, would it break the upgrade system at all? (I'm a wimp, I admit it)
