Is there any extension that you can add that will do the following?
When a poster registers after reading the rules is there a questionnaire that they can fill out that will require them to answer where they learned about the site, i.e. google, yahoo, etc.
Thanks in advance for reading this.
You need make extension.
Although you could be right, I highly doubt it would take a full extension to change one word in the language script when you can change smileys in the nya developer and add them as well.
There has to be a simple php solution to change the word into an image.
If anyone has knowledge of how to change the word to an image url please post it.
I'm going to do some more research today to try and find an answer.
Anybody have some direction on this?
I want to replace the word 'report' with an image in my forums.
'Report' => '[REPORT]',
Basically I need to put either the image url or a link within the forum in place of the word in the language set.
I have the image in the 'English' folder, what exactly do I need to do from this point to make this work?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Thank you keeshi, I appreciate that.
I sent you an email earlier in the week regarding a different matter.
I'll be watching for your response.
What if you have the subforums package by 2008-2012, Sergey "putnik" Leschina
All rights reserved.
Can you simply disable that and go with this updated version?
My fear of deleting it is that I will lose any topics or threads that my users frequent.
try add this code on your style CSS
.user-url.first-item {display: none}
#CMIIW
Thanks but no, this does not work.
Is there a way to remove the 'website' portion from the user's profile section?
Thanks Trace!
I have been getting more involved with PHP so at the very least this will give me something new to learn about.
How difficult is it to make up extensions and where would someone begin.
Is there a write up on extension development or a 'how to' guide?
Is there any way to make it so that users can click and view another users avatar?
Basically all it would do is open up the av in another window (200x200px maybe?) so that people could get a better look at it.
Its something that my users have requested.
Thanks keeshi, its appreciated as always.
LMAO!
What is "porno-mode" keeshi?
No one has ever had this issue?
I am experiencing an issue with my forum where users are returning to find that when they click new posts it is showing either everything marked as unread or some of the posts the viewed previously are marked unread.
Has anyone else run into this problem and is there any way to correct it?
This is a very useful tool IMO for an active forum.
Subscribing to threads is useless if there are threads being created everyday in a forum.
But being able to follow the people that you discuss your favorite teams or sports with from thread to thread is very useful for spurring and continuing conversation.
All of which of course adds up to more page views which should be the goal of a profitable site.
It is in no way like facebook where you are checking to see someone's status or commenting on their page. Its just a way to have access to the posts within the forum that are posted by other users that you converse with on a regular basis.
Nice idea paulcambull If someone has a huge forum, with very active members, this will be useful.
Thanks keeshi.
How hard would it be to put something like this together?
The one other aspect I forgot would be a button/link under user avatars in their profiles or posts that could 'friend' and 'unfriend' users.
i m making a login with facebook extension for pun bb
This is a much needed extension IMO.
Something that my users have requested several times is the ability to friend another user.
Basically what they are looking for is the ability to have a list of friends with the last post from that friend showing up next to the name.
You could show the last 5-10 friends to post with a link to open up the entire list of friends.
Pretty crappy image but that's the idea.
It would probably be best to have the 10 most recent friends to post on the forums and not the 10 most recent posts, in other words you wouldn't want the same poster with his 10 most recent but the 10 most recent active posters and their most current post.
It should be located above the contact information directly below the immediate user information.
Even better would be to have keeshi's profile description located directly below the initial user information followed by the friends list.
This would give users reason to go to their profile and see what other posters are doing as well as giving users a reason to visit other users profiles.
I don't know how feasible this is but I think it would be a great extension to have.
A simple thing that seems to come up from time to time is where a user will click the report link thinking they are clicking the reply link.
Where or how would I go about either changing the word or possibly putting an image in its place.
Or better yet both, like a flag/red-light with 'report' next to it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Keeshi's extension for this works, I have it on my forums now.
Keeshi
