Yeah no problem. I will post back in a little bit.

The error log wasn't turned on before, that's why I can't give it to you.

Well I uninstalled 1.3 and put up 1.2.14.

I was going to try and use 1.3 in a live environment but was advised against it.

I did repeatedly get the internal server error though with 1.3 and SEF urls on, and I did not check Apache's error log. If you like I can set it up again and let you know the details.

Thanks for the help everyone.

hcgtv: good to hear from someone else who has lived in the Tampa area.

Looks like I will have to settle for 1.2.14, I just want to be sure it isn't going to be an ordeal to upgrade to 1.3 when it comes out. If anyone else wants to throw in their two cents feel free.

It is the drastically different part that worries me, especially if it comes out in a month.

What about using the SVN in a live environment? Not a good idea?

Right now I am stuck. I am re-desiging an existing site and I am finished with it except for the PunBB integration(The current site uses phpBB and I am switching over to PunBB with the re-design). I was planning on waiting for 1.3 but now I am not sure how long it will be, seems it is at least a few months away and the site needs to be finished soon.

So my other option is to integrate 1.2.14 instead and upgrade to 1.3 whenever it comes along. Will the style/template system change completely in 1.3? Will the upgrade be an easy one to perform?

I basically want to avoid doing a bunch of work integrating 1.2.14, then having to do all that work again when 1.3 comes out.

My other option is to install 1.3 from the SVN and use that with the new site. Is it stable enough to use in a live environment?

Any suggestions?

Yeah I tried that and still no luck. I re-installed it and now I am getting this message when trying to change options. I am using it in a sub-domain but I can't see how that would be the problem.

Bad HTTP_REFERER. You were referred to this page from an unauthorized source. If the problem persists please make sure that 'Base URL' is correctly set in Admin/Options and that you are visiting the forum by navigating to that URL. More information regarding the referrer check can be found in the PunBB documentation.

If I remove htaccess it loads fine but with the wrong URL's now. If I upload htaccess I get the 500 Internal Server Error?

Any idea why this is happening?

I installed the SVN version of 1.3, turned on SEF URL's and uploaded the .htaccess file and I am getting a 500 internal server error. Is this a known bug?

My server is configured properly for .htaccess and modrewrite because I am using Wordpress with no problems.

Any ideas?

Link?

The re-design is about halfway completed. I am also going to (most likely) wait for the release of punBB 1.3 before it is launched. I will be sure to post a link when it is done.

I just stumbled upon punBB a few days ago.

I currently run phpBB on my one of my portal sites. I am completely re-designing the site with a standards compliant approach. I also made the decision to move to a standards conscious, lightweight forum system. I searched everywhere but could not find any software that met these needs. I was about to buy a vbulletin license until I discovered how messy and bloated the code was, so I kept looking. I somehow ran into this site and it was too good to be true. I have spent the last two days playing with the latest version and still can't believe what I have been missing. I am truly impressed.

The developers here have done an outstanding job and this product has exceeded all my expectations. I just want to say thanks to the development team for all their hard work, time, and effort. I truly appreciate it, and I am sure others feel the same way.

Keep up the good work!
