If you know how to code, you can most likely figure it yourself. If you cannot, then I wouldn't advise attempting it.

More info on your specific meaning would be helpful. Disable the list for guests only or all users? How would you intend to access the sub-forums if they aren't visible?

Link to you site where the problem is visible? What do you mean by 'striking out' exactly?

With difficulty. It requires a notable amount of alteration to do it properly.

Look at the wiki over on punres for the mini-portal? info.

Search the threads for this mod. The modification is in one of them for multi-recipient messages, I believe.

You've overwritten the new style logout link with the old style link from the PM mod. Reapply the link as shown in the 1.2.17 hdiff or patch files.

They are for the 1.3 beta, not 1.2.*. smile

he means ajax quick reply, vbulletin has that feature, very WONDERFULL one, it would be bitter if some one makes an extension about it in flux

Firstly, he is a she. Second, what does it do specifically? Is that mod similar or not? If not, how so?

Seems like we'd better strip them all before any input checks (so that we have "empty field" error).

That's a far better solution. smile

Search over on Punres for 'instant quote', or something similar.

The UTF-8 part is not a bug. 1.2.* was just not UTF-8. smile Btw, setting the locale option explicitly can cause problems under certain circumstances, if I remember correctly.

But just for the cases we really need it. It seems to be OK to allow them in message text.
Other way is to check whether field value contains 's only or just trim them off the edges.

If it does have any use whatsoever, (which I severely doubt, and even one of the links you pointed to says this):

Web authoring, SHY (written e.g. using the entity ) could be used as an occasional hyphenation hint in special cases, with the risk that it may be displayed as a normal hyphen in any context by some (rare) browsers. Moreover, some browsers (e.g., Firefox) simply ignore SHY.

then the only place I can see it being of any use whatsoever is within a set of code tags. Nowhere else.

What are your ideas on possible solution?
Chars blacklist, or conversely whitelist-filter containing allowed chars only?
For critical fields at least.

You are a Dev are you not? No disrespect intended, but you should be suggesting your proposed solutions, not asking for methods. smile If those characters serve no useful purpose whatsoever, they shouldn't be allowed fullstop. Plus, a useless character is a useless character in ANY field.

What error is printed in the server logs?

You would need to add a new tag to the parser, which will take the link within those new tags, for example, [slideshow]link to gif[/slideshow], and output the required html.

Using and enabling that HTML mod linked to above for all users isn't a good idea.

Redirecting from and being served from are two very different things, however.

Wow you people are irritating in the sense of just a simple domain name.

As much as I personally don't really mind the recent change, one also has to remember that the org domain does have significant meaning, especially within the Open Source community. Granted, it is just a name to all intent and purpose, but it is significant nonetheless.

Ditch the arrogance and heed the advice you are being given. If all you needed was the 'chmod command', as you put it, you have already been given that in post two. Pay heed to advice or ignore it, but do not use the bombastic attitude towards those whose help you require.

Then, it's not fun anymore.

That is what makes the difference between a dev|coder|programmer and a user. smile

Christs sakes. It's an error message for a board admin. Not a cutesie sign for a five year old. It tells you the error. That is all that is required. 'Styling' it, as you put it, would be about as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

Not necessarily. If you forked and maintained your own release, that does not mean you have to be the only person working upon it or using it. You would merely be the person in control of its development, if you wished to make it publically available and also allow others to code for it. You would be (a|the) Dev rather than a user. smile

There is a third, go towards another project.

Not really. It's a two choice decision. If you go to another project, you are faced with those same two choices. Your third scenario is merely a placement shift. smile

Then it hit me today, what prevents you guys from selling FluxBB to the next bidder?

Took a while for that thought to hit you didn't it? There are a cartload more open ended questions like that. However, there are where any O.S software is concerned. Musing too long on thoughts like that has no beneficial effect. The two choices are to either go along with the general flow, or maintain your own release.
