Topic: build a bridge between my web site (with users) and punBB

Hello,
my question is a little stupid but I do not find the topic:
I have an Internet web site where the users use login/pwd.
That gives access to various pages and a forum punbb.
I would like that they are not obliged to be connect to the forum but they are directly connect to the forum when they are connect on my web site.

Existing: my table user

Question: What have I to do in punBB ( fill somes parameters) so that, by creating an action which uses my table user, my users are directly connected?

My english is so bad, i'm sorry, you understood me ?

Hello sillage,

The best thing is to migrate your site users to punbb users table.
Then, use punbb login, copy the login form HTML output and integrate it to your site.

This is how this site was developped, and it is really perfectly working smile

First, I dont think it's a stupid question.

I agree with futurama. I think that would be a lot easier than trying to get PunBB to work with your user system.

guys, what i did was to take a css template and add punbb functions to my css.
i display my index.php and my main.tpl in my forum on my site.

Thanks ortzinator & futurama234 for your answer, but my website is operational.
I think that to adapt my site to my need is not the best solution.

Nobody forever desired to adapt the forum on an existing web site, while basing itself on using users of the site and not on new users?

The best help will be to say me the various variables to be filled in session. I find some in the part : install.
