Topic: A module engine

Instead of having to install mods, a module engine like the one of drupal could make it a lot faster/easier to costumize PunBB. Also, it should be possible to turn them off from a module panel, which would save some time that you have to spend for reinstalling mods. Some functions like the User list, Rules, Search, Stickies, Rankings etc, could be remade to modules which should be easy to turn off/on.

1.3 will have an extension system with hooks which sounds like what you're talking about
