Topic: Remove the links in the footer

Hello
I wonder if I can delete the links in the footer
Thank you

Re: Remove the links in the footer

Yes, under GNU/GPL licence you can remove links but must keep in tact the copyright notices in source code.

Re: Remove the links in the footer

I'd just like to say that keeping the links is a nice gesture in return for getting the software for free. smile Yes, the links can be a bit obtrusive on some pages, but that can also be fixed by blending them in. You can see how I toned them down a bit on this site: http://ykix.org

That's also a good approach.

Might be a nice gesture, but under GPU/GPL the rules are clear: You may AND keep a clear conscience.

I saw php-fusion has policy that if you want to legally remove the footer (with copyright), you need to pay them. But they have a different copyright agreement users agree to. If Informer wanted that, they'd have to rewrite the agreement and risk more people moving away...

Another site I saw gives access to instructions on how to remove copyright in their template only if you donate , then you can access the info on another part of their forum.... Which is a bit daft as they're under GNU/GPL.
