Cool, thanks Rich smile

Here is a link to my feedback topic for the karma problems
http://www.eroyton.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?id=4537

USers are now reporting that the karma options have disappeared. After the upgrade, some users reported it was working but then other problems arose and some users (including myself now) cannot see any karma options at all. I have it enabled in settings>features AND in extensions.

Thanks.
I've upgraded and am now testing.

Is there an option to set time limit on post editing? So that user can only edit his/her post for X hours after sending it?

tnx

A common request.
I'd love to see it.

Hey I like the wii theme.
I think I might copy that one tongue tongue big_smile lol

Many thanks smile
Fingers crossed you can find out what's wrong.
Just to confirm, I definitely have entered the number "24" in the bit where it asks how many hours before you can vote again.

Hi Rich,
I hope you can take a look at this topic regarding ekarma
http://punbb.informer.com/forums/topic/ … once-ever/

Thanks
SG

Within admin I've set it so that users can vote for other users once every 24 hours.
However, all of my users are reporting that once they have voted for somebody, they can NEVER vote for that same user again. Even if they wait 24 hours or a 7 days, they still can't vote for the same person again.

I confirm it is set to 24  hours in the admin panel.
Is anyone else using that extension and having a similar problem?

Cheers
SG

it is very very very common that I get the security message. I don't think my users get it. someone suggested it mainly affects admins

To increase time frame of the security token, you should increase the online timeout. You can do it on "admin/settings.php" page in the "Default timeouts and redirect delay" section.

This is not a good solution I'm afraid.
If a user spends 5 minutes composing a new post (this is very common on my forum) then he should be hit with the security token measure. This is just putting people off using the forum. Also, I don't want people to remain in the online list for 5 minutes after they leave the site. This results in confusion amongst posters who make topics like "hello username" when in fact the person they are talking to left the site 4 minutes ago.

So the online timeout should be around 3 minute (for my site) and the security token should be a separate value.

That is just my opinion anyway

For an official fix to this issue, I think that when calculating the cookie expiry times, the difference between the forum default timezone and the actual timezone of the server needs to be taken into account.

I agree. Or find out what changed between 1.2 and 1.3 because it never happened with 1.2.
cheers

REQUEST:
I request that you do the same with the "latest post" column, hiding the author of the last post unless you mouse_over the link.

I hope this can be done in a future release?

crappy posts will be deleted and the points will be removed

And the users in question will start new topics demanding an explanation why his topic was deleted.  This extension is a bit tricky for some forums I'd say.

using it.
loving it.
thanks

Garciat made me a hack for this about a month back.
This one should surely be a default setting. It was clickable in 1.2 by default.

I'm on holiday in Wales but I'll give this a test when I get home!
a preview or screengrab would be good

Garciat wrote:

That'd be possible, but posts created before the extension wouldn't display the old avatars.

Some info about me

That would be OK smile

But his userlist would still be cluttered up with spam registrations.

I'd like to be able to embed a google map in a forum post.
Is this possible do you think?

Thanks Dverte
I just implemented that change. Let's hope it works.
I logged out and then went to login.php but the "remember me" wasn't checked. Should your  hack result in that box being checked or not?

Thanks
Mark

Suggestion:
Move the tag cloud right down to the bottom of the template. My regulars will go mad if they have stare at the tag cloud every time they view a page. The tag cloud should be something tucked away at the bottom in my opinion so that if you want to see it, you can scroll down to see it. Not so prominently disaplayed imho.

It seems to work perfectly though

I think you forgot the wiki link?
testing it now
thanks!

sounds good to me.
Not sure if people will just create new topics for the sake of it though to get more points.
