Zimmer92,

If you use Firefox, try the Web Developer extension.

quaker,

I'd wait for PunBB 1.3 to see what we can be accomplished with the extension system and then make a determination as to how to interface a CMS, Blog or Gallery into PunBB.

My thinking is that whatever pains you may go through to integrate something via mods would be just as painful when an update is released. So interfacing projects is better via mechanisms that allow you to keep up with security and new feature releases with ease.

You guys are so nice to each other wink

Why the name webular?

Will you be placing a site at the root, just wondering why you placed it in a forum subdirectory?

Nice mod, YouTube is gaining popularity, I usually waste some time everyday checking out things.

Wonder when they'll get sued for allowing posting of copyrighted material? Till then, let's have some fun!!

quaker,

You can't get much smaller than sNews: http://www.solucija.com/

The funniest thing is, they only hit one thread.

Close that thread, it's very common for bots to target a specific url.

grudon66,

I help moderate this forum and I don't care to see you deleting and entering the same post again just so this thread stays current.

We heard you the first time and many of us have tried to help you. This is a support forum for PunBB, not Linux, Windows or web hosting help.

When you get hosting and have your site all setup and encounter a PunBB problem, we will be more than happy to assist you.

It's hard enough keeping up with updates so that your browser and email clients are humming along.

Must be hard work keeping all those extensions up to date.

There's a real easy way of doing this, in the style directory are all the CSS files.

Cobalt.css, Lithium.css, Mercury.css, etc. - rename all of them to Cobalt.txt, etc., leaving the one you want to be used as the default in admin options, the system will default to this one.

I just did 10 rounds on that  site and I failed only 3 times.
Is that good or bad?

I failed about 6 times before I was hailed as a human, maybe I've been out of circulation for too long wink

I began putting Adsense on my blog as an exercise to learn how to do it so I could answer support requests.

Then I started to notice that my pages were getting spidered faster and more often, at least that's what I started seeing in my logs, YMMV.

Since then I place Adsense ads on all my sites, irregardless if it's a blog, forum or gallery. They're unobtrusive, load very fast and a few dollars here and there pays for hosting, donations to projects, etc.

Just noticed the ads on this forum have gone missing.

It's possible with a mod if someone wants to build it.

In lieu of this, you could always scan through your Apache logs to see if a member's IP has viewed a topic.

Wow, did you leave out any mods wink

I'll keep playing with it but so far I like the different look of it, not your run of the mill looking PunBB forum. Andreas would be happy to see one of his creations adapted to something other than a blog.

In Firefox, when I run my mouse over the side menu it slides down a bit, that's the only thing I've noticed.

iTunes on Windows is not all that great but the iPod is very nice.

Obviously the iPod has drawn people to the Mac, thus is the reason for Zune.

Now is 1 easy and 10 hard or the other way around?

If you feel that this forum is a bit slow it's because of this:

Server load 55.43 47.72 53.48 (44 users online)

Looks like the Textdrive server is getting slammed.

Thanks, I'll give it a try this week.

3. Install eaccelerator (the 0.9.5 rc1 was recently released, and works very well with the latest PHP versions).

I've thought of trying this out, any side effects or things to look out for?

grudon66, you create a directory in your file manager.

Let's say your webspace is at c:\xampp\htdocs\ - create a subdirectory called c:\xampp\htdocs\forum\ - then follow what I said a few posts up.

I think that's more a feature request, a mod or even an extension for PunBB 1.3.

Honestly, I like a fast loading forum, the only images I like to see is an avatar because it makes it easy to see who's posting. I turn smilies and images in sigs off in my profile, but that's just me.

grudon66,

Try this:
a) create a subdirectory under the root called forum
b) copy everything in the upload directory into it
c) then try http://localhost/forum/install.php

I think the periods are doing you in, at least let's eliminate that possibility.

Wow, I read the news this morning but didn't know why.

Everyone has the right to protest, this is Jani's way.
