Dotster just sent me an email informing me of their 25 free info domains.

What's with this .info craze?

I used to be pro Microsoft, everything running in a Windows world.

Then I switched to Linux, the Penguin everywhere.

Since then I've settled down to the real world. I now run a Windows XP workstation and a Linux server.

In the future I see a G5 workstation for myself, Windows XP, Linux and OSX desktops sprinkled about and a Linux server for my websites.

The backup code in Nucleus is based on phpBB code. If you have a chance you can look at it and add it to PunBB at a future date.

Look at the file backup.php, pretty generic and very easy to retrofit to any project.

Personally, for my local sites, I use phpMyadmin, for external Nucleus sites, I use the built in backup utility.

At the same time, I noticed that someone had registered punbb.com.

Can they do that? Is PunBB copyrighted?

Does anyone have any idea on what basis e.g. Googlebot makes it's decision to index or not?

Just from my personal view, Googlebot indexes all my PunBB forum topics. I think it has to do with the fact that I link to each topic in the footer of my CMS items.

Don't know what it does when it hits the forum straight away.

Rickard wrote:

Seems like a nice product. I haven't tried it out though. Have you?

Yes, I installed and tested the 14 day trial.

A forum post on the EE forums led me to Nucleus just when my trial was running out.

After having used EE for 14 days, I felt right at home in Nucleus.

EE is a very nice CMS system, not free or open source though.

Since 1.0 was released about 6 months ago, a couple of modules have been wanting.

This thread follows the conversation of users asking to know where the forum and gallery modules are:

Of interest to PunBB, this was posted in this thread:

slinky, if you want to integrate a forum into EE, you're better off using PunBB.
It at least uses the same password scheme, which Invsion and phpBB do not.

All I can add: http://hcgtv.com/item/481

They probably harvest them from the html-code too, so we're screwed anyway :(

I look at it this way, it's up to Google to filter my spam. So on my sites, the footer contains a mailto: with the approriate gmail address.

Let's test out their filters :)

Should be posted up on their site next week.

A submit button in the form of a "floppy icon"? That sounds rather odd :)

Radek added a wysiwyg editor toolbar to the add item screen. Since the toolbar has a floppy save button, he removed the old submit button. This small change has been the #1 support issue on his forums.

Progress :)

Press the floppy icon on the editor toolbar.

Blog:CMS does have their own forum and this question gets asked a lot.

perhaps the mozilla crew can make something embed itself in the memory on boot, so it will be as fast as IE to load :D

I've never understood the IE loads faster argument. I load Firefox in the morning when my system finishes booting, it's up in seconds, let's say 5. It stays up all day, never crashes.

So I'm going to run IE cause it only takes let's say 3 seconds to start. Yeah, that's a valid argument to run a browser that has security holes the size of Texas. Maybe I'll start leaving my front door wide open when I go to bed, since it takes too long to open in the morning :)

IE is hidden away, in order for me to click it, it has to be a conscious effort. Did this to protect the innocent :)

My domain stats for August:
MS Internet Explorer 35001 65.1 %
FireFox 9412 17.5 %
Mozilla 3497 6.5 %
Unknown 1567 2.9 %
Opera 1532 2.8 %
Safari 1484 2.7 %
Netscape 663 1.2 %
Konqueror 248 0.4 %
Firebird 199 0.3 %
Galeon 32 0 %

Second month in a row at 65%, used to hover at 80%.
