Not really. In 1.2, the admin interface will look a bit different. It will have a navigation menu to the left instead of the links at the top. At least I think it will smile

Still undecided? Personally, I like options along the top, more screen real estate for the content body. The only downside is running out of room for options along the top.

In punBB's case, it wouldn't matter since the admin screens are light and content is not entered via the screens, only parameters.

What this means is that you can drop a script in a directory somewhere and it will pop up in the admin interface. It will make life a lot easier for mods that need an admin page.

Nice, I like that. So I guess it will appear as a new menu option along the top.

which cms if i may ask are you "skinning"?

but i guess a better question is would someone be willing to build a cms with punbb in mind? VERY lean and fast with a admin panel to administer the forum and the content.

I'm skinning Nucleus.

Both systems should be seperate but function together.

It would be a case of designing a skin for an existing cms. The parmaja site is a typical cms layout with a view into your forum posts.

I'm working on such a skin.

I've been thinking of the possibility to add a wrapper solution to make PunBB show up inside Mambo, but that might be hard, I will look into it though.

I've been posting at opensourcecms.com using Simpleboard wrapped in Mambo. I suggested they try another forum because simpleboard seems clumsy.

Are you saying that punBB wouldn't be able to be embedded like simpleboard?

Nice mod, I can use this.

Translation button? You mean a link to Babelfish (or something similar)?

Yeah, something like that. Just a curiosity on my part. Haven't seen it implemented anywhere.

Are there any germans and spaniards here except you then?

Well since most everyone uses a nickname it's hard to tell who is Spanish.

Wouldn't it be a nice feature to have a translation button? Does any forum have such a feature? This thread got me to thinking about that.

Then how about us Spaniards smile

Has someone tried integration with other packages and if so how did you go about it?

You've come to the same conclusions about punBB as we have.

See here what was done for Nucleus: http://punbb.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=4121

I'd be very interested to see how you integrate punBB into Mambo.

I'm in the process of merging Nucleus with punBB. I want hand off commenting to punBB in a seamless way. So I'm active here to learn punBB and it's intricacies.

I'm also going to merge a Gallery app, you might be interested in it for your private collections.

Yes, the html and javascript is interpreted by your browser, the php is interpreted by the apache server running the php module.

You would need a CMS, go here and compare: http://www.opensourcecms.com/

If you don't have it already, download the Developer Tools plugin for Firefox.

I second that, it's the best extension for Firefox.

I'm going down the same road, punBB integration with a gallery app.

The only problem that I'm having is finding an image gallery that is as lightweight as punbb. Gallery and Coppermine, though nice, have features that are overkill and duplicated in punBB, like commenting.

punBB is a 200K download, Gallery and Coppermine are 2MB.

The search continues smile
