its done.. i mixed a bit with the news mod externnews.php, without knowing a shit php.. 
Now ive got an news archive system!... see result here:
Click on the month at the lower part of the menu to the left to get all news from the month...

If anyone wants this out as a mod, post in this thread and ill modify it so that it fits all forums and then post it...
ok that seems kinda complicated im gonna try using extern.php instead.. maybe it will become a mod some day...
I have seen that you use a news archive system for this page, where you can see all news from a certain month.
Do you have a script for that? i would like to use it for my forum.

I have updated the forum made for students in my school a bit.
The forum is based on punbb and i have added a few mods including Private message system, punpoll, latest active topics, attachement mod and a few more...
I have also made a frontpage including different parts of the forum and a news-script based on externnews.php (news mod).

"pun" does not mean anything in swedish... sorry im from sweden and i have also wondered what "pun" means ever since i installed it
ive installed the mod on my forum, but other useras than me (admin) cant upload files... i have set the permissions so that all except guests can upload files but registrerd users still cant upload...
im running punbb 1.1.4

does it mean that if put 20 seconds, messages won't be marked after 20 seconds even if user has not read all messages?
correct.
It is normal.. the marks disappear after a certain time. (600s is default). Can be set up under admin menu.
it works better now.. but if you log out fron the forum it still looks like you are logged in when you go to the front page.. you have to update (F5) to make it change...
Is there a way to make the status on the front page update when you log out from the forum so that you dont have to reload the front page for it to update?
Still some problems... when i go to my main page it says "not logged in". Then I log in to the forum and go back to the main page... it still says "not logged in"... i go back to the forum and it says "logged in as bobitt..."
Because of this i removed the line in the top of the page saying:
"define('PUN_QUIET_VISIT', 1); // We don't want to update peoples cookies on the front page"
Now i can se that i am logged in on the front page, because i have links like "log out" and "admin options" in the menu... But it still says "not logged in" under...

Hi again guys.. here comes another one... i also want the little message that appears under the menu saying:
Logged in as [username]
Last visit: [date]
alternatively (if you are not logged in):
You are not logged in
How do i get that?

I tried it, but i got this error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: gen_navlinks() in \test.php on line 70
Ok nevermind.. i found the solution.. the code should be:
<?php echo generate_navlinks(); ?>
instead of:
<?php echo gen_navlinks(); ?>
...

you can check $cookie['is_guest'] and if that is true, you show the login box.
Btw.. did we not diable the use of cookies in the script above?

One more thing would be really nice though.. is it possible to move the login part to the front page (only username and password fields and forgotten password/register)?
I have fixed it kind of clumpsy right now by borrowing some code from the forum files, but that login part does not dissappear when you log in... I would like it to do that..
On your front page (www.punbb.org) you use the styles from the forum. For example if i go to my profile and change style to "cobalt" or any one of the styles available, the front page changes style as well.
How do you code this? Im kinda noobie at php and web design over all...

It works now, but i get a few errors in the "post" part of it.. it seems like you need a BBcode mod of some kind for it to work right... perhaps the one that makes buttons out of the BBcodes?
ehm... which versions are supported? i only get an error message saying:Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in install_wikids.php on line 192
when i run the install_wikids.php file... i have version 1.1.4
EDIT: I tried installing 1.1.5 and the same message still appeared... whats wrong?

What script did you use for upload? i want my users to be able to upload their schoolworks for sharing with each other on my forum, im not a big fan of php (yet) though, so i need a good uploadscript that is preferrably intergrated with punBB...

thx man... but i acctually need some advice... my school has over 1600 students and i have only "caught" about 125 of them... how do i reach the others?
One problem in my forum is that there are loads of Off topic-discussions. Is that a possible reason? or is it just the holiday perhaps?
The forum i put up for students in my school has currently 125 users and a little over 7000 posts (has been up since may 2004)
