I run the forum for Bergsala, they import Nintendo-products to Norway. I have to use that server.

I hope this isn't spam. I just had to post it.

I've been using PunBB for the forum at www.nintendo.no now for over a year, but lately the serveradmins have been complaining about me using PHP and SQLite. Now they have told me that I cannot longer use PHP, I have to use ASP and MSSQL.

This is a really big dissapointment for me since PunBB is the best forum system I've ever used. I miss PunBB. sad

Well anyway, keep up the good work on developing PunBB. It is really a great forum.

Bah, you have never used a correctly configured GNU/Linux system before.

I use Gvim for most things and nano for small textfiles.

I like it simple.

I'm now running PunBB++ Alpha 2 here: http://www.nintendo.no/forum/index.php

There are a lot of bugs, but nothing critical.

The error is the lack of prefix in col-names.

Ok, I'll try to explain this...

Example SQL: SELECT c.id AS cid, c.cat_name, f.id AS fid, f.forum_name FROM  '.$db->prefix.'categories AS c LEFT JOIN '.$db->prefix.'forums AS f ON c..id=f.cat_id ORDER BY c.disp_position, c.id, f.disp_position'

This will load for example cat_name from the table category into c.cat_name. In the code the prefix 'c.' is missing. This doesn't work in SQLite! Atleast not in the new version.

You can either add 'AS cat_name' to the SQL or replace 'cat_name' with c.cat_name' in the code.

It's not my server. It's not my forum actually. I'm just admin there.

Anyway, someone I know managed to find the PunBB++ code somewhere. It supports SQLite.

Ok, I'll continue to work on the mod. If you release it then I would probably only use it to get some hints on how to use SQLite anyway.

I wish there was a SQLite mod available.. hmm

No, I have access to MSSQL. Nothing more. I don't want to use MSSQL either.

Hmm..

I don't have a reason other than that the forum I'm replacing have been down too long already.

Oh well, I can try to mod the durrent release to SQLite..

The only way is to hide the post count. That's what I did on the forum I'm running. A lot of the spammers just left the forum then.

Hmm..

I'm currently working on that, but it would have been a lot easier to download a mod.

Why can't you just release the old version of PunBB++? There are a lot of forums that is running it currently and I can't see why it shouldn't be able for download.

I just need the SQLite support..  -_-

Why can't you release a beta version or something? I need  a forum that supports SQLite now. I can't wait for it.

Is it possible to get a betaversion sent to my e-mail?

I don't care about small bugs and such. I'm able to fix them myself if they exist, but I don't have time to mod your current release to support SQLite.
