Reines wrote:who the hell has 2 gig of emails anyway? :S im only at about 21mb used, with 2279 emails.
Well, I was reaching that limit with all the attachments I had (some were around 21 mb at a time), but I just downloaded them all and saved them to disk, so it droppped my usage down to around 18%.
It's even worse than I thought...Apparently GWA works by caching all pages (repeat ALL) you view on a central server. This includes pages that are password protected, email you read, private journal entries, or cradit-card statements.
The server then makes these pages availible for anyone else who goes to the same address with GWA on.
So, even if you password protect a forum - someone can still read it if it's been viewed by someone with GWA.

Wow...You would think I would have seen that.

Sorry to bother...Found it.

It's well worth it.

Hooray!
And, anyways, if you check the fine print, Gmail offers what they refer to as "infinite + 1" storage. You get 2GB (which the number is slowly climbing...You can see the counter rising at gmail.com) initially, but if you fill that space up, you are automatically upped. You can never run out of room. They will continue to up the amount of storage space for as long as you have an account.
Plus, Gmail now offers some compatibility options for text-only browsers and such that just blow everything else away.
Oh, and don't get me started on the speed and ease of use.
Maybe I'm a complete idiot, but I have no clue how to set permissions for this wiki.
I've gone to the punBB Admin panel, but apparently permissions aren't set there.
For some reason I'm not seeing an Administration link or finding the page from which to set permissions.
Any help?
After upgrading to 1.2.5, I've decided to wait until the next version of the PM mod comes out before installing it in order keep it bug-free.
tibia wrote:hmm I tried to dl 1.25 from the mainpage, download aborted. (Server Failure)
Is there a secondary link to download?
Hmm...It's working now.
And the current version is 1.2.5. 1.25 is way in the future, although we hope that 1.3 comes first. *lol*

That's good stuff.

Love the look and feel of that site. Awesome job!
You can convert wBB 1.1.1 to phpBB with their converter.
Then, convert from phpBB to punBB with our converter.
Try it on a test board first...And always remember to back up the databases.
Good luck!

That's one...Just google for "php chat script" and you'll find a million.
musikCube *does* look cool, and it has something that my favorite media player (XMPlay) lack - an easy to use media library. Plus, a built-in CD ripper that I don't have to pay for.
I just wish that the FoxyTunes people would put it on their list of players controlled by the plugin. Until then, I can live with Global Hotkeys, though.
Rickard wrote:Actually, my problem with Mambo is that is it somewhere in the middle. It's not lightweight, but still very "static". I tried to construct a large website (for a Swedish university) in Mambo, but constantly ran into a wall and had to go with Typo3 instead.
sBLOG is cool. It was written by a friend of mine
sBLOG is nice. Everything about it is so simple. I just hope that he makes it easy to integrate punBB and sBLOG sometime in the future, considering the fact that they are so beautiful together.
I've already started releasing and developing templates for sBLOG/punBB that match.
When it comes to the whole website construction thing, I just hardcode everything. It leaves less holes.
Ack!
I'm sort of opposed to Java/PHP.
Why not a minimal PHP/MySQL chat built in?
But, like Connorhd says - "well basically i like this, and if you don't like it then don't use it"
So, I'll stick with not using it.
We've just got to spread the word - show people how much better punBB is.
Rickard wrote:Don't look at me. I don't like Mambo at all.
Same here. I'm more of a simpler kind of person, myself. Trying to master the complexities of Mambo drove me nuts.
I'm using sBLOG right now...Fits my purpose. If I need more, I can arrange it.
