I suspect that the people who does this look at the hdiff-file and locate the security-flaw with the old version that way. That's why it's important to update quickly after the release of a new code.
Perhaps it would be an idea to make this forum member-only, so Rickard can compare the cracker-ip's with the members and ban them.

I've located the problem, as I did a file-by-file transfer of the upgraded 126 files. There was something wrong with admin_options.php, but I also had a problem with cache.php. These two errors in combination made it really hard to figure out what was wrong.
It's fixed now tho, and I have 1.2.6 up and running perfectly, with all mods and tweaks smile

I installed this today, it's proving very popular smile

Which file would that be?

Tried that, but no.
Not sure if it's my server thats causing problems, cause nothing will write properly.
I'm trying to run the change-version plugin, and that wont work either. There is no version-number registered even after I run that plugin.

I'm struggeling with the installation of 1.2.6, doing a manual upgrade.
I've more or less finished it (I hope), but the options in the Administration menu wont save! Every time I fill in the info, click save... and it's gone again.

Edit:

I deleted the cache, and ran the maintenance-script in the extras-folder, so now I'm logged in as admin and able to search for the solution on my own.
Thanks for the help, I hope I get it working myself now.

Yes, it seems so. Don't understand why.
But why doesn't it work when I put back my old files either?

"There is no valid language pack '' installed. Please reinstall a language of that name."

I get this error, and when I put back the un-edited files I still get lots of errors. sad

this was discussed here.
I tried the modifications, but it didn't work 100% hmm

PunBB has a problem with url's with strange characters it seems. It only affects the automatic link-generation. When the url-tags is used, the link works fine.

Example:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_(artist)

Example with tags:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_(artist)

I'd love to use this mod, but I see it's quite old.
Any such project for 1.2.5?

Funny thing, I've never encountered it myself. What browser are you using?

It happens with FF and IE, but I think the cache-settings is what makes the difference.

This problem happens because the uploaded avatar gets the exact same name as the old image.
I would suggest that the name of avatars change when they are replaced, so the browser recognises the change.
I get questions about this on my forum all the time!

Thanks for the suggestion Paul, I'll do the colour-thing wink

I think it would be nice to make a small disctinction between the Sticky threads and the others. A simple horizontal line would be enough.
Any ideas on how the code could be changed to make this happen?

I also noticed this early on after having moved from phpbb, but I much prefer the punBB solution. I also find the phpbb-solution very unreliable, as it often marked topics "read" even when I hadn't read them, the marking seemed almost random at times.
It's much easier to keep track with punbb, and it's more reliable.

I use the english version.. maybe (ironically) the problem lies in the language pack?

Thats strange, I can write øæå without problem both here and in my own forum.

Ok, but it's just a courtesy to other users to censor out bad words.

How about the courtesy to respect the rules set by the admins of this forum?

The entire point of me quoting those emails was to show the bad way that some people act. If I censor away the message, the point is lost.
