Why not add a "I'm feeling lucky" button to the search page?
It is actually one of the best features of google.

Wow, it's magic!
First, my wireless connection was down. I told it to come up again... and it did!
Then, while loading punbb.org I told it to release 1.2... and you did!
I wonder what other needs this computer may satisfy...

No, I am not running my forums as root. In fact I am not running my forums on a beta release at all.
Anyways, I think the install-script says that it will create the database, maybe that should be rephrased.
Edit: Yes: "If it doesn't exists, PunBB will attempt to create it."

Hello, I tried the beta out. When I was about to install it couldn't create the database. I had to do that manually, but after that it had no problem with the tables. Not a big problem and it might have been caused by some mistake of my own.
Versions: MySQL 4.0.18 and PHP: 4.3.6 the user was root so it shouldn't have been the permission-settings.
When I tried to use the email-test in profile it spat me a couple of these lines before saying that the email was sent correctly.
Undefined variable: server_response in /yadda/yadda/punbetatest/include/email.php on line 90The email arrived corrcetly after a while.

I noticed now that this problem occured to me too.
The picture is still there, called 1.jpg. But (!) my user account doesn't have id 1 anymore. That id was given to the guest account. So that is probably the problem.

Whew, problem solved. As it eventually showed up there were no less than twain Guest accounts and that caused some troubel. Thanks for all the help Kennel. (It feels great to have you as a registered member on the forum.

Thanks a lot. I'm off to 1.0 now.
Edit: Hmm, I unpacked everything into that folder but it still says verssion 1.0 rc2 down right. Why is this?
Maybe I should try and delete all the files (except config.php) and try again?
Edit2: Horror: I get bad request if I try to click on profile.
Edit3: I found the reason now, My account doesnt sseem to be in the userlist. But I can log in and out without problems. This is freaky.
Edit4: Maybe changign my users id from 1 to 2 could solve the problem. 2 is unused. But I'm still wondering why the version is wrong.

Jag skulle bara vilja säga att jag skulle uppskatta användargrupper. De är trots allt användbara på vissa forum. Men inte alla, kanske man skulle kunna konfigurera i servern om man ska använda anvädargrupper eller inte.
Men du gör som du vill, du vet nog bäst.

I want to administer my forum from the same computer as it is running on.
For everything to work correctly I must have a base url that works. But if I use localhost people from outside are going to have problems and if I use my dyndns I can't connect to myself ofcourse.
Is there a way to get around this?
