I think that's part of the feature description. Like you have a bunch of bookmarks in every forum for your favorite threads... or whatever the purpose of this feature is supposed to be :)

Firebird does the same things, is lighter and it's free (both as in speech and beer :) so the choice is easy to me.

Wouldn't it be, in principle, the same as having a "regular" database? I mean, the database is a file in both cases? And, at least in NIX, you have file permissions, right?

The header thing is asked about often, look around in the forums (or use the search function) and you should find it (yeah, it can be done). The drop down list sounds like something that will never be in "vanilla" punBB, put down a Mod request in the Mod forum. As for the points thing, this should be an easy edit in some .php files. I'll let Kennel tell you which ones :)
