I wish i could grow a decent beard.

THe converter can be found on the downloads page:

Nice site.

The green is a bit bold on the forums, maybe merge some of the categories together to reduce the effect...

GUI: PunBB isn't moving to a templating system. All the custom templates means is that people will be able to take a copy of main.tpl etc and add a few divs to it e.g. for displaying graphic boxes or moving existing stuff around.

Am i reading this wrong or does this mean a seperate main.tpl for each style ?

http://punbb.org/docs/dev.html#integration

Then on your homepage you can have a simple...

<?php

   if ($pun_user['is_guest'])
    {
    nbsp
    }
    else
    {
    links
    }

?>

You can add it to index.php yourself...

One thing i do like about the seperate templates is that a theme author could add his copyright notice and url onto the theme. At the moment there is no way of crediting an author without requesting a link in the footer, and alot of people ignore that...

I have a few styles i want to release but seems pointless at the moment if i'm not going to get any credit for them.

One potential change regarding the tpl files is that each style will have its own set of tpl files.

Is that likely to affect performance?

One of the reasons i dislike phpBB is the endless template files...

Problems with your host. Ask them..

What is probably best is to install PunBB at say www.site.com/test/ and then convert the database. If everything goes well you can then delete phpbb and rename /test/ to /forums/ et voila.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

to call it from the index page with <?php include("../forums/extern.php?action=active");?>

but nothing shows up

i can call it if i type into my browser http://www.lettertogod.net/letters/extern.php

The paths arn't the same. /letters not /forums

Just make sure the table prefixes are different...

I want to show the "recent posts" on my wordpress blog..which is done already but I cant match the font/links with the rest of my blog

That should be simple. Just give the extern.php include div the correct font styles.

I've used many other boards; PunBB is very sleek and very nicely designed.

So why remove the link back to PunBB ?

Create a robots.txt file and add the following:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /profile.php

Upload to your sites root folder. Change the path to /forum/profile.php etc if need be.

Can you not give them a seperate id?

#bbcode ul
#bbcode li

etc

It means that common.php can't be found, check you have uploaded everything to the correct structure.
